General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

stupid controller

Post by pimpsmurf »

I bought a original ZZ with the hummer shell, and the controller wouldn't let it steer left or go forward unless you push really hard. So I took it back and changed out the controller, and the new controller won't go right unless you go really hard. It is the controller with the textured back and joysticks, and the battery cover screws in (I think that is different from the old ones.)

The chassis is fine because it works great with my ZZMT 27mhz controller.

Is it possible that I just got 2 duds, or is there a way to mod it to work with less joystick action. I don't really want to even take it apart if I'm going to take it back.

Maybe not just duds, but a bad batch of controllers? Who knows? I would just take it back one more time - "Third time's the charm."

If it still doesnt work, smack the RS employee upside the head with the remote, then walk out of the store with a grin.

Yeah. My RS asst. manager friend wasn't there, so I was dealing with an ass who didn't want to just swap out the controller. I've already modded the chassis and he couldn't get it through his head that he could simply open up another one, swap the controller, and issue and exchange with the reciept I already had. It boggles the mind...
