Does Panoz mean anything to you guys in the USA

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Does Panoz mean anything to you guys in the USA

Post by TeamBonzer »

HI all

I have the opportunity to manufacture a new shell based on the Panoz Esperante, just wondering what kind of profile the Panoz has in the USA.

http://www.panozauto.com/

I am a little worried in that they can't even spell Litre correctly "hand-assembled 4.6 liter DOHC engine". Looks like a redneck operation to me :-D

Cheers

Panoz is an American sports car company that uses Ford motors in most of their cars. The 4.6L is the modular V8 found in our mustangs. Their cars are damn fast though.

Well, to me it means nothing, but if you have a shell, I wouldn't mind having one.

I know of Panoz from their entries in the GTP or GTR class in the ALMS series. Cool cars, big long nose.

It seems that you have a boner for race car shells.

How about a 70's Hot Rod, or a kick ass (realistic) pick-up truck shell. :???:

Whatever you end up with, I'm in for a few. The last shell you did is sweet. Wouldn't miss the next one. :-o

They look like modded corvettes, or TVRs.

if you are going to make a shell of one of them you would not have to change the your TVR shell up much they have many of the same body lines. :???:

I wish it was that easy :-)

As the tooling is steel you have to start from scratch. Reason for looking at the Panoz is that the team that ran the TVR's last year (TeamLNT) have switched to Panoz for 2006. They plan to compete at Le Mans, British GT and possibly ALMS.

Got a meeting with some Nascar guys on Thursday, could be a route to USA for Bonzer Racing. :-D

Anyone got any info/pictures on previous NASCAR micro's (1/64th) or if any are still being manufactured?

Cheers

The NASCAR Micros sold here are very symetrical. They're not very
popular with the Micro RC world. They are along the same scale as HOs
and they are very big amonst HO racers.

Thanks DT

I do remember seeing a 1/64th from a company called "Action", and I believe that they also run the big trailer based retail units at NASCAR events.

Why weren't they popular?

Was it because they are not compatible with BCG/ZZ and therefore not upgradeable etc, or were they just a POS

Basicly both they did not fit on any other RC chassis and they were a POS!
there were a lot of them at Wal-Mart clearance isles shortly after they came out!

I love them. Light body, and a Cobra motor. What else is needed?
