Not your Daddys Car

Post by steelwoolghandi »

I know this is not a bit or zip but was not sure what section to put this in?

I guess the cat is out of the bag over at Ripper R7R so I will post this baby here!

I got an Epoch Recently form LBRC and as soon as it came in all I could do for the longest time is drool.

I have posted pictures of this bad boy I can honestly say it screams! I have only run it on my wood floors so have not gotten a chance yet to try it out where it can get some room I plan on doing it this weekend!

What the pictures show is a Turbo set up (black pack on the back) Custom aluminum motor mount in the rear with 2 ZZMT motors (yellow ends) The servo motor has also been upgraded as is extremely responsive! The batteries are 4 180 MHh batteries which provide plenty of power and they are provided as a pack. But if that’s not enough LBRC also included a 345 mAh Lipo.

As you can see by the pictures the Epoch Chassis is extremely clean and set up like it came from the factory this way. I am extremely happy with the performance of this Epoch I am going to try it against my nephews 6 cell X-Mod this weekend and try and surprise the crap out of him!

I also got some cool bodies from LBRC some 1/24 and 1/43 scale that I am working on the paint jobs for. I plan to post some pictures of them (if LBRC does not mind) as soon as they are done I hope to have them finished soon.

Now here to the pictures of this bad boy:

That's what I was thinkin'. Well, I still need to order an Aquaspeed motor, but that's the jist of it.

I was also wondering how that would run with a pair of Orange ZZ MT motors. :???:
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

Um actually it does have the orange motors, with a yellow motor for the steering servo, and a three cell Kan 180 pack.

It will toast a 4 cell Aquaspeed, especially on a track. It’s not just that the car is much quicker and faster but the steering/handling is a huge improvement too, and not just because of the servo motor. The fast and efficient dual PMB motors and ball bearing mount do not steal needed power from the steering circuit, the car is very stable.

To put it bluntly SWG’s car is not only faster, it handles a whole lot better, with over twice the runtime too. Of course an unbiased third party race is definitely needed, but it would/will be an embarrassment to the owner of a 4 cell powered Aquaspeed.

Thats why I gave up on theSpud motors.
I am going to try it against my nephews 6 cell X-Mod this weekend and try and surprise the crap out of him!
Hm :???: , could be interesting, dare I hope?

Sorry man I miss spoke I meant the Orange motors not the yellow. I haven’t opened it up so I thought there were 4 cells in it guess I should have checked before saying I just did not want to mess anything up buy opening her up!

I am fixing to go out and try her on some real open area hopefully I can get my nephew out and do some racing! :-o

http://www.apexrc-racing.com

If you order on line from them your order will be transferred to Epoch1-43.com aka TinyRC/MZR in Michigan, or you can order from any of the TinyRC websites for a shipped from Michigan order.

If you phone or email an order directly to Apex it would be filled by Apex in California.

Either way it would cost about $50 plus shipping for a ready set or $40 for a chassis set. Ready set has car, crystal, radio, and charger, chassis set comes with just the car (chassis + body) no crystal.

There are a few hobby shops and other stores that carry them but it’s sort of hit or miss, and occasionally one will show up on Ebay.
