They came on Good Friday. That day I took my son and one of his best buddies from his Martial Arts class out for the day. We went bowling, go-carting, did lunch, they dropped them off at the mall. About five minutes after I dropp'd them off, Lil Matrix had a reaction to something we ate at lunch so I picked them up and headed home. LM went to sleep so I was showing his buddy "Par" (Parnell) my collection, well my "Stash" of unopened goodies and we talked. He told me that he and his brother used to have a couple Micros. I showed him what I had gotten that day. He told me his father "loved" Speed Racer (old school) and it was his favorite cartoon. He has the matchbox and a couple 1/24 scale Mark5's. So I ended up giving Par a couple Nakamichis for he and his brother (Marcus - 9yrs) and the Mark5 that I had just gotten for his Dad. He said his Dad will freak when he gets it. Guess we may be getting a few couple new members here soon !!!
I guess Good Friday has it's mysterious charms in different ways....

Man, that's big of you DT!!!

I don't know if I could have parted ways with the Mark5 so soon after receiving it. That was classy!!! Not only does it show that there are still great people around, but hopefully that inspires little Par to do the same for someone else some day. Major PROPS bradah!!!

(BTW, how does the Mk5 run? I saw one somewhere and thought about getting one).

Thanx Pimp !
I've given away stuff on occasion, but never that soon! The Mark5 was brand new, never opened it so I don't know how it ran. Besides I have a Bit Mark5 (or 2) so the clone wasn't that big of a sacrifice. 8-)
I did open and run the Shooting Star (RacerX) car, it's okay, wired motor, body sits a lil high but you know I can't go racing them guys without some kind of advantage.......

Where'd you grab those from, DT? I'd love to get my hands on that set, just for the shells alone... I was always kinda bummed that MegaHouse didn't make a Racer X. They made 2 Ultraman cars, why not 2 Speed Racer cars?

I have to say I'm not surprised at DT's generosity, being a recipient of a few free goodies from him. I think that is a great way make people aware of this hobby and how much fun it can be.
It's good to have people like him out there.......
:-o
