tlc fj40 body shortened into a 45... custom cage... 3x transfer gears 6t pinion... narrowed 1/18th quad tires on crawler rims... artic. mod... small x mod shocks... zzmt yellow mtr. steering mod... shaved arms and chassis for tighter turning radius... shaved bottom of chassis for clearance... front susp. lockouts and knuckle pins shaved... zzse steering servo electric winch wired in parallel with drive motor... exhaust doubles as cutout for drive motor so you can stationary winch another truck... with line doubled it will winch itself off the ground... I'm sorry I can't figure out how to post up some video cuz it's pretty sweet in person. Think that's about it. :-)
Thanks for looking, JeremyImage

Shame it isn't roofless. That would make a great entry for this summer's competition.

Great job man. What are the Xmod shocks for?
Can we get closer pics of the car/chassis?

Hmmm, wish I'd known. The center soft top section actually was designed to come out but I glued it in cuz it would have fallen out every time I rolled it.
I built it for my Dad in Ct. so it's not in my possession anymore. Maybe I can get him to snap some better close ups on their rock course. The x mod shocks are to limit articulation and help prevent torque twist although they're not that good at the latter on steep climbs when the front end is unweighted. I used a single spring design on another one which is kind of the opposite of this design in that it prevents torque twist better but limits articulation in some instances.

what's pretty cool with this set up is that by running two mts on the same channel as in the pics you can drive the one being winched up the ledge as the other spools line in when you drive... if you back up the winch spools out with you... essentially it becomes a one man winching operation 8-)

Upload your video to www.YouTube.com man! It's FREE! Then just give people the link and they can watch it.

That's what I do with all my vids:

That's some great stuff man. I dig the landcruiser body, and I like the use of the shock, I've thought of something similar.

And it's nice to see I'm not the only one crazy enough to try doing winching

Thanks for the positive feedback. I hope to post some video soon. I fried the battery in my beater crawler (the only one in my possession (sp?) right now) so as soon as I get it rebuilt I'll do some filming.
