Your Favorite Bit?

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Your Favorite Bit?

Post by Tuner1989 »

Just curious as to what bit you pimps enjoy/enjoyed most?

Personally, i love the microsizer 2 speeds, the controller is a great design and feel, and for the handling and speed these things had out of the box, i always feel like i'm getting a great deal.
That was back in the day for me though, i've since cannibalized mine and am looking to pick some up.

Ditto. Turbo Blaster all the way.
And modding that controller to reverse the turbo for a dual/tri-cell and/or fet is invaluable to me.

I tell ya what though.....
About 6 months ago, I opened 2 packages of microsizer Helmets. 27 and 49. No turbo of course.
The 49 was a little on the slow side, I forget what the prob was. Battery I think.
But the 27? Damn! Set it on the table and push slightly with your finger, and the damn bit rolls like 1-2'!
Here's the kicker: The thing just frickin flies. Beats most of my 3.8 stock bits with a 2.6 or 3.0 in it!

I'm not sure how these Microsizers are assembled. Machine, human, both?
My reasoning mentioning that, is I always wondered if some dude working in the factory tried to make his own suped-up bit while at work, kept getting almost caught, so he/she would package it up with the rest, and try again later.
Either way, it set my personal 'bar' for stock bits pretty high, and I haven't come across one like that 27mhz Helmet since.

A diamond in the ruff for sure.

My favorite is just the straight up, one-speed OG bit or Microsizer done up SuperFly-style: usually a $2.49 Speed Set chassis, mosfetted, teal gear, LXX rear tires and Bit Racer black slicks in front. Tab lowered, spring suspension, usually a pullback body or a race body (like Esso Supra, Mobil1 NSX, etc.)

This one in particular.

And that mutha fucka got ganked.
I'm still pissed about that.
I walked several miles after I realized that and my only digital camera was gone.
I got into a fight with my wife over it even because she insisted on being nice and carrying it all for me.
Fuckin bitch.
Just kidding, kind of. She was just trying to be nice.
But I know if I had that bitch on me, it'd be like tryin to gank my wallet.
Not only will I know, but I'm gonna react like a fuckin crazy fuck and pound your skull in.

That was my favorite ride, fastest ride (and I've got fets from all the pros).
For some reason it was like the Holy Grail of bits.
Not to mention, it was my first paint job and first chassis mod job, so it had sentimental value to boot.

Fuckin fuckers. I still wanna stomp the dudes ass that stole it.
Fuck my only digital camera that they stole with it, I'd fuckin whip their ass just over the car.

And I'm pretty positive it was the fuckin skippy working at Bennigans in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He better hope I never see his ass - I don't care where.
I've had this brewing in me for years now so I'd likely beat him to a pulp and steal his real car and maybe rape his little girlfriend.

Yup, I'm that pissed over that little car.

Wasn't that during the time you and Payaso filmed that ZZSE movie at the laundry mat?
Was the bit stolen at the same time the camera was?

Yes and yes.
I fucking hate that night.
Fuck that shithole.
I don't think I ate at Bennigans since then.
And everytime I go past that fuckhole when on vacation, I think about it.

I hate that place and every dickhole that goes in there.

Fuckin hole, hole, hole. Blah!

I'm okay now though, really.

damn cabo , that really sucks. :-(

My favorite bit ?

Had to be my auto modelista set (2 speed) ,NIMH battery, with a 3.0 lucifer rotor , RX7 body painted black and a big ass intercooler on the front that I stole from a die-cast., , orange gears , spring suspension , soft tires .

That was my favorite bit , I took care of that thing like a fucking offspring.

Sadly though , it got lost while moving from England to New Zealand :-( still gutted to this day.

Noooo, I don't think so man.

...Anyway, my favorite bit ain't a bit at all. It's a DigiQ. The Pennzoil DigiQ

Image

It's pure sentiment, I used to LOVE the Penny Racers when I was a little kid so when I found out they took a Penny Racer and made it into a Radio Controlled car I flipped the hell out and HAD to get it.

The DigiQ was my Gateway into all things Micro RC and so it shall always have a place in my loins. :-o

I had typed a long ass reply, then hit the back button because I realized I got carried away. I came back because I thought I had a simple answer, anything with FETs. Then I saw Superfly's post and realized that's basically my favorite. Any FET modded Microsizer with teal gears.

my favorite was this cheap bit clone(similar to lxx maybe?). It was a
white honda accord wagon. all my first attempt mods were on that thing.
fets, dual cell, panda paint scheme, zz wheel conversion, 3.8..and then a
microsizer pro 2 speed board and then back again to regular bit sized
wheels.

coolest original idea for a micro.. ZZMT hands down.

Well sr8 outta da box, can't beat (drum) a Shen Qi Wei or Rally Racer.
I've always thought they performed better than ANY other Micro RC I've owned. (IMO) Now my favorite from da collection has to be......

This was my 1st body mod and it came out so right for my 1st time.
I just couldn't believe I created this from a $5.00 BigLots Thunder Charger

I'm having trouble deciding which is my favourite. I can't decide so I pick one of each style I run.

For a Tomy it would have to be, my Skyline GT-W

Image

It was a real fun conversion making a skyline into a grocery getter wagon.

For a clone it would be the Hauler

Image

Making the SUV into a decent little pickup.

For ZZ (Original) It would be my latest creation the Corvette Targa.

Image

For ZZ SE it would be this little beauty of a Firebird.

Image

Of course this little beauty is a definite favorite. Plenty of speed and motor purrs like a dream.

Second that on the Shens... loved them straight out of the dome, even more so modded... I only have two of 'em... one I did with teal gears, the black rims from the Skyline history set chassis, stickiest tires I got, a 200mah nimh, strong 4.2, and ZZ springs... it's faster than you would think, and handles great... the other I scored for three bucks "broken" on the clearance shelf... hogjowlz dual celled it for me(fawker was supposed to be talking me through it and got carried away), pink clone motor, ZZ wheels, red gears... that sucker wheelies straight as an arrow the entire length of my kitchen...

Someday I'm gonna buy a case of those bad boys :-)

The old Z-cars have a sentimental value to me, the first one. I am pretty sure that one was pre-microsizers, back when I was in elementary school.. Fuck, that was a long time ago

I dont think I could pick an all time favorite, out of the box or modified. At the moment though, I am definalty lovin the new zz chassis.

I think the one I got the most of are the Rally Racers. Those were pretty nice, and $10 at kbtoys. I probly got more than 10 of those.

Sadly though, I've never had a lxx or real bit char-g

Not sure about about Microsizers, but Z Cars were released after Bit Char-Gs
Sadly though, I've never had a lxx or real bit char-g
Don't fret you didn't miss much. As far as I'm concerned LXX had the worst QC out there. They just looked the Most similar to Bit Char-G. As far as Bit Char-Gs go, other than the alternate frequencies, and some body styles, Microsizers are virtually the same car, but I think the Bit Char-G had more issues. Some runs had horrible range. My Skyline set had the crip cap on both the car and Tx, range was much better after I removed them. I found some of the earlier runs had kinda hard tires, and most of my Bit Char-Gs have had to have the steering spring tweaked to get the car to track straight within the range of adjustment provided.

I've had good luck with Microsizers though (except for later runs of Pros and Sports from TRU that had uneven steering due to one arm being a mm shorter than the other.)

But now that I really think about it I had the most fun and spent the most time with my tricell ZZ that I called FrankenZap. I mean, shit, I named it... When you're giving cars nick names, its gotta be love.
