those hoe scale cars at walmart that come in a nitrous can.

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

those hoe scale cars at walmart that come in a nitrous can.

Post by hogjowlz »

well wally world in hillbilly land finally got some so i had to fork out the $$

these are smaller than bits yet are dual celled and have "turbo blaster" like ms pro. except these things have "smart turbo blaster". turbo only works in fwd and when its going straight. in reverse or a turn it is in normal mode even when the turbo button is pressed. however i was able to flip it over once.

the controller is smaller than the traditional round clone controller and the buttons have way smoother action than any other bit type controller ive used(no clicky clicky).

the car itself has really tiny wheels. i have some slot type wheels that should go on really easy. the body is fast and the furious so off to buy a johnny lightning thunderjet gto at lunchtime today. the steering is slightly modified from a bit but works really well. the batteries are shrinkwrapped together and slide into a hole in the middle of the pcb. the drive is enclosed like a slot car and the (hardwired)motor somehow turns a gear inside the enclosure. its a little noisy but seems to run smooth. the car is very low to the ground as well.

how does it ride? in "non turbo blaster mode" it runs faster than a stock bit or zipzap. in "turbo blaster mode" it really kicks out the rpms. it steers like a champ on a tight weave carpet at least. i havnt tested it on a hard surface yet.

what happens when you drive it off your couch into a glass of orange juice? well first you dont hit any buttons on the transmitter and you take the body off and rinse it with water and let it sit all day and it should work later on after it dries.

** oh ya one major disappointment was the fact that there was no nitrous in the can. so go grab a can of easy whip before hitting the checkout counter **

I've heard good and bad about these. I've been tempted, but I've resisted, but now the way you decribed that smart turbo, I'm interested again.

I don't really like booster cars, because in 1/10 scale that extra button on your controller was for brakes, so I have a bad habit of forgetting to hit the boost, and then boosting into corners. That smart turbo might just help me.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

I'll hold my tongue on this one. I was very disappointed with them, although I didn’t spend a lot of time on them. They could be an excellent source for mod parts.

ok i just picked up another jl car. its a cuda i think. now i got two sets of slicks that will make this baby grip real good and have a non-rice body on it. more info as i do this.

my bad its a challenger. good detail and painting will be easy due to the fact that the windows are a separate piece of plastic and i just got the krylon mirage blue/purple kit.

gonna have to agree with ya hog.
I don't understand why sites do that kind of stuff...
well, actually I do, but wow - makes ya look less reputable and totally hard up. at least in my eyes.
