NEWBIE intro/help!
hey guys, just joined. i'm about to buy one of these little devils but i still just DONT KNOW which one to choose. ive got just a few questions about it, and i did research on a lot of the things i just want some experienced people's advice.
1. microsizer or zipzap? whats the diff? which ones better?
2. on the microsizer pro, when your racing your bit without the turbo button on, is it only 1/2 the speed?
3. if i get a microsizer or a zipzap, which motor/accessories should i get for the best BALANCE of speed and acceleration. basically what to get to make it fast.
thanks guys!

for a noob it won't matter which one you buy first.
correct, press boost and you have full speed.on the microsizer pro, when your racing your bit without the turbo button on, is it only 1/2 the speed?
just get whatever you can find, these things are becoming rarer every day.if i get a microsizer or a zipzap, which motor/accessories should i get for the best BALANCE of speed and acceleration. basically what to get to make it fast.

There is no real difference in handling. Microsizers/bits are probably a tad better for small technical tracks, due to their short wheelbase. Zip Zaps are probably faster out of the box. Zip Zaps come with a 2.2 motor, MS come with anything from a 1.6 to a 2.6, depending on the model. The Pros have a 2.2, but it is not as punchy, and therefore doesn't seem as fast as the ZZ motor. Good luck finding 3.0s and 4.0s. As the other guys said these cars are no longer in production and getting harder and harder to find.Sharp wrote:well, im not completely a noob, i meant noob in the forumsbetty.k wrote:for a noob it won't matter which one you buy first.

But micro's are faster stock.

The Zip Zaps from the Cars movie that RS still sells have motorized steering and use a 2.4v battery. There is a resistor limiting the battery though. If you remove that resistor you get instant dual cell speed. Since these are still on the shelves, they may be your best bet.
Search around, read up on some old threads. You're not asking anything that hasn't already been answered a thousand times before.

so your saying those cars movie ones are faster than a regular stock zip zap or microsizer?, how baout the aston martin james bond one, that one looks cooler. or if this is possible, can i just take the body off of the cars one and put in a zipzap body?crazydave wrote:There is no real difference in handling. ok i see, thanks guys, one last question though, the Aston Martin has dual cell batteries and a 2.4v battery right?
also has there been a thread or does anyone know how to remove the resistor limiting the battery? thanks guys really appreciate it.
ill be sure to get all the stuff i can while its out, i actually have a friend who has a 4.0 motor to sell so i think ill try that out as well.

Both Astons were SEs, which mean they have a 5-7 step throttle and steering, Even though they use the 2.8v battery, they only go as fast a single cell car. Search for the DC Mod, to understand why.Sharp wrote:ok i see, thanks guys, one last question though, the Aston Martin has dual cell batteries and a 2.4v battery right?

Really, you're not asking anything new. I'd really suggest that you start searching around and doing some reading before asking any more questions. We have answered the same, "Zip zap vs. microsizer" question over and over in the last 3-4 years. Most noobs get flamed immediatly for asking that question, but the other mods must be distracted at the moment.

Well it'sn not the mods that give the beatdown, unless the questions are
totally off the wall or just plain stupid, a cry for attention which the poster
gets plenty of.
Welcome to Da Hood Pimp! Kick back and enjoy da ride. There is tons
of info on Micro (1/64) out here so have at it. We are absolutely the
most active Micro RC community on Da Planet, it all stirs around here.
New shit, contests, auctions, hook ups, etc. If you really want to get into
these, you've come to da right hood..........

That's the understatement of the year right there... lmao.crazydave wrote:the other mods must be distracted at the moment.
I think it's a combination of the uhhhh, distraction, and the fact that its so rare for new people to show up askin' the old newb questions, we're just happy to have you here... plus, you don't come off like a 9 year old in your posts
