New ZZMT project

Im back from the dead guys with another ZZMT project
started off with a ZZMT from 45tr0, came with some PCB mods that im unaware what they do(resistor added and like a 20cm aerial) and a lipo
so far i have:
extended the chassis
offset the wheels
custom 4 gear mod
RRB hydro style steering(didnt have enough spare gears so i only could add 1 gear, anyone have a few spare ZZMT parts?)
i still have to trim the side of the offset wheels and tidy everything up, this is just in the mockup stage ATM
For size comparison, that Mini body is off my 1/43 SuperSlick
im going to custom fit a hummer body to it (sliced down the middle for artic reasons), lipo + PCB in the cab of hummer
last mod that i have planned so far, the winch, it should be mounted where the batteries usually go
enough chat, heres the pics

good lord man, you have been busy!
Lol, i knew the antenna was obviously longer but didn't know about the board mods - i'm assuming they were done at the same time as the lipo for some reason?
lookin great man, i like where you're takin this!

yea i dont know what the mods are for 45tr0, but i will find out soon enough
just waiting for my charger to get here for the lipo and i will have it running, maybe if i dont have enough run time i might put dual lipo's
im hoping for around 10mins runtime, not sure if ill get it though
notice the mini body??

Pm me your new adress, I forgot all about it!
Should get like 30mins runtime on the lipo, because of it being geared so low.

That thing should be sweet with a lipo. Long run times, less weight and more room in the chassis.

yep should be sweet, mainly a experimental model this one, little rough on the steering mod and gearbox, so im looking at buying another one ofter i see how this performs and make a really tidy one
btw RRB, do your crawlers have a centering spring on the back half or just loose rear end? i was unsure how it keeps so stiff, my old one was loose end flopped around a hell of alot, especially with such high torque

I'd run that one for a while and experiment with it. My beater crawls the best but looks like a ton of shit from rebuilding it so many times. Chrome don't get cha' home!
I ran a single large x mod spring for a while and it worked ok. Lots of flex but too much torque twist. Spring rate is one of the trickiest things I've run into with these little bastards. Currently I'm running a dual spring set up with some softer springs I got off a mini crawler at Wal Mart. The same manufacturer that makes the mini quads a lot of people on here use the tires off for off-road bits.
This set up is definitely stiffer but works better for me. I've recently made it semi adjustable but the range of adjustment is too great between settings to really be useful. Most of the time I find a set of springs that work close to what I want and just glue them in different places until I get what I want. Once I get them how I like 'em they usually break off anyway.
This thread has pics of it somewhere
