Monster troubleshooting
After years of waiting, ma ZZMT finally arrived to here, Hungary.
Although, only one truck arrived to me, and this only trucks steering motor has gone wrong.
Is there any way to fix it?

I've swapped several bit motors in my MT's steering, they work fine. Don't know about where you're at, but around here, most clones have the motors with the wires coming out of the end bell. To wire a standard bit motor the can is ground, and the end is positive.betula66 wrote:That may be right, although I dont whether it could work, cuz the monsters motor is bigger(the diameter is different). However its worth a try.
Thx for the advice.

It works, I've done it a couple times. As I remember, the diameter is the same, but the length is longer. I didn't even have a clone motor with wires, and just soldered up a regular bit motor. The nice side effect is your steering will actually be stronger, depending on which motor you use. I kind of like the orange endbell motors that come with KIT racers. I'll try to find a picture of one of mine.betula66 wrote:That may be right, although I dont whether it could work, cuz the monsters motor is bigger(the diameter is different). I would switch the wires where they attach to the PCB. If the motor was hard-wired or you soldered wires to a motor, you don't want to mess that up. Also, you might just try a bit controller of the same frequency and it might be good to go as is.betula66 wrote:SuperFlys method worked, a regular shen motor solved the problem, however now steering works viceversa. Any idea how to repair it?
Or just get used to it?

Yeah, I forgot which ones did which. I think a Nakamichi controller might be just right, then. I remember being happily surprised that the SuperSlick 1:24 Monster Truck controller works with ZZMTs. I like that trigger/wheel setup better.crazydave wrote:Bit controllers reverse Zip Zap's motor, but leave the steering the same.SuperFly wrote: Also, you might just try a bit controller of the same frequency and it might be good to go as is.
I'd say, switch the wires.![]()

I had to get one each to drive all my Zip Zaps with.SuperFly wrote:I remember being happily surprised that the SuperSlick 1:24 Monster Truck controller works with ZZMTs. I like that trigger/wheel setup better.

That's why I remember about the motor wires. I've reversed a few bits to use those controllers.
