Radio Shack holiday offerings

I thought I would share the love here first, instead of anywhere else, cos well, this is THE spot, and bitpimps reaks 15 kinds of hell on all the others!!
I was in my local RS today, speaking with the manager whom just got back from the big FT Worth RS meeting. He filled me in on what to expect from RS this holiday season relating to micros. Keep in mind, my local RS is devoid of spazmatic employees and the employees are honest and trustworthy, as they told me back in August last year about Zip Zaps and all the new stuff to date, and it has all been accurate. They did a slide presentation/teaser at the meeting showing some images and descriptions of what is to come. Here is the info he brought back to share.
Zip Zap 2.0
The Kill All car is coming. GOODBYE full on/l/r/off!!! The new 2.0 will be Digital Proportional just like the Vipers and Vettes!!! Not only will they boast Full D.P. controls, they will also boast 6 selectable frequencies!!!
Based on 3 selectable per 27mhz/49mhz for a total of 6 frequencies/cars running at once. Then, to top that off, they will have full spring suspension!! Then, if that isnt enough, from best judgement, they will be compatible with all previous ZZ parts and shells, etc!!!
Now, for those in other parts of the world, who have craved our beloved first generation ZZs, fear not, as when the 2.0 hits here(pre xmas) they will no longer sell 1st generation in the states, however they will continue to make them for export to other countries, IE, Canada, among others.
And fear not the last blemish of insanely short stock, they have the estimates in the works, and they want to be overstocked this time, so they will more than quadruple initial production compared to initial run of 1st generation zzs.
What does this mean, maybe the death of Tomy/Hobbico sales in the states....or, the antying up of the competition and maybe Tomy will compete and do RS one better, if that is possible at that time. We will finally have the perfect car IF it handles like the 1st generation zzs.
Now, on to part two. RS will introduce a new line of micros called X-Mods.
These are undetermined on scale at this time(my contact said they were more hush hush with these, but he said the pictures showed a controller highly similar to the current 1/43 Viper/Vettes controller).
Now, the kicker on these cars, is modability. They will come in a boxed kit you build yourself. Not sure on chassis, but he said some talk at the meetings of a flat pan type car. On top of the standard proportional controls, they will offer an assortment of hop ups, accesories/etc. like no other. Everything from different compounds of tires/treads, suspensions, even a 4X4 off road mod kit. Numerous bodies, parts. From what the meeting speakers said, they are looking to target bringing full scale micro competitions to life. Much like sanctioned 1/10th scale etc. they want to bring it indoors, but on a serious level just like the larger counterparts. My guess is they are looking to offer a RS4/Mini Z type modable car, but in a smaller scale. Believe it or not, RS HAS in fact listened to customers, read emails, and taken calls, as the above totally supports their desire to give the consumer what they want.
I guess that wraps it up, and keep in mind, this is direct from the source at the meeting in Texas last week.
Any comments, suggestions, supporting of the above products?
Holla!
