Same here, know exactly where you're coming from.Shit man. If I take my time I'll fuck it up sure as shit, but if I rush through, it's usually fine....WTF?
That sucks the big one pretty hard there, hue, but I say, fuck it, start over. It'll be easier the second time, and you'll breeze through it. Need another '68 Camaro? I can still get them on clearance.
I do feel your pain though, the failed projects are piling up on me lately.

Alright, here's the bullshit mess, as it sits...
The god-damned fuckin' clear (Testors Model Master)
ate the god-damned fucking silver trim (Testors Model Master).
So, I figured I'd try to remove the clear and the melted silver
paint from the rear window, re-paint the silver and brush the
rear window with clear.

But no... the thinner had to get away from me and eat the
fuckin' paint on the fuckin' deck lid. SWEET!!!

So, I'm gonna let this shit sit for a week, clean up the area
WITHOUT THE FUCKIN' CANCER SPREADING ANY FURTHER!!!!...
then I'm gonna mask the area, hit it with gold, re-paint the
silver trim, brush a thin coat of clear on the window trim to
seal it and re-clear the whole fuckin' car to at least have a
seamless surface. Then, this fucker's done, and never again
will I make a post that goes anything like, "hey, look what
I'm makin'!".
FUCK!
I actually think I can pull this out, dammit!... another month.
Christ.

Dude, the car is living up to it's name - Fucker.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

That's not so bad, I've actually fixed worse. That's why clear coats make me nervous as hell. I don't know how many perfect paint jobs went bad at the clear coat stage.
Here's just a tip if your clear coat goes bad on ya, since I've been through this numerous times. Wet sand the old paint off with some 1000 grit sandpaper. It'll take you a lot longer, but that'll save you from messing anything else up, and your surface will be baby butt smooth, so the new coats lay better than ever.
Funny it took you a few days to talk about it, I can only imagine just how pissed you were.
