further down the road...

I'm working on interior for the Camaro right now. The tape is marking how far forward the top cover will go... I'm going to bring it just behind the seats. Also, a rough sketch of the flames to get a feel for the mask I'll have to cut.

The Challenger is getting ready for paint.

Now I'm thinking about light metallic gold (another stock color in 1970), but the purple is so damn cool...

man hue35, that is some nice work you've got there, the camaro looks really good with that new interior and that flame layout, and your challenger colour scheme sounds perfect, i can't wait to see both of your creations!

Yeah, the purple and gold would be nice... special factory-order 'pimp' option.

your challenger's ready to paint, but are you gonna put any seats or interior in it, or are you doing that after the paint?

For both cars, the interior will be attached to the chassis. Basically, it will be the pcb cover. The Camaro's interior is from the 2f2f Spyder and it's been hacked to fit. I think I will start from scratch on the challenger and keep it real simple... maybe just seat backs. I was also toying with putting my avatar homie in there, but he's pretty big.

makin stuff smoove? as in with using the putty?
I'd say you could use the same putty/sanding methods that are in the "Build Your Own Truck Body" thread

I believe thats what Yagbols did. Chop of the bottom part off the homie that doesn't fit into the car. Looked cool.

I had a hell of a time shoving a Homie head in my car. I had to trim right up to his chin, and he still sticks out the top. You do have a big guy in your avatar. Good luck, you'll need it, but you'll have a little more room with a convertible, I was working with a targa top, so maybe you won't need the luck.

Well, the Challenger is getting close. The paint and most of the detail is done, now I gotta finish up the wheels and interior. The wheels are going to be the dull grey magnesium inner wheel with an aluminum outter ring look (classic gearhead mags). For the interior, I'm gonna stick with adding seat backs to the pcb cover and 'Paint it Black'.
