Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

I used Duplicolor Twilight Blue (Metallic) number DSCC 353. I listened to DT and went to Auto Zone and picked up a can of it. It was a choice between this and Garnet for the truck, I liked this a little better for this project. The clear coat was done with Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic (my personal favorite for clear) and the details were done with Citadel paints.

That came out nice. It's funny, the Nakamchi body looked vaquely, but not quite likr a Skyline, now it looks like a pickup, and doesn't look anything like a Skyline. It's even got a tailgate, nice touch.

Careful using that Krylon over the Duplicolor. I believe the Krylon is enamel, and I know Duplicolor is laquer. Krylon laquers are usually branded Duplicolor. Check the can.

That's not to say it can't be done, obviously, you did it, I'm just saying be careful, that's risky stuff mixing types of paint. I'd hate to see you mess up a project at the last step.

My Krylon is Acrylic not enamel. It works on everything I've tried, not a probelm yet. Now Rust-o-leum that is trouble with their clear, it eats the top coat of paint.

Yep I tried last night to clearcoat on my newly detailed beetle (first time I have used Duplicolor) and that bitch craacked and bubbled.

I figured I had no probs with this clearcoat and the testors paint so....

Well I was wrong back to the drawing board on this project

Sorry don't mean to correct you, but Enamel is Acrylic. Laquer can be Acrylic, or Nitro Cellulose, but Nitro is very expensive, and sprays like Duplicolor are Acrylic Laquer.

This is a guitar refinishing site, but they have great info on the paint types, http://www.reranch.com , check it out, you'll see I speak the truth.

Hey man, it's all cool, I was just trying to warn you, because it is risky mixing brands of paint, and I really would hate to see you mess up one of your neato projects, but with good paint techique, proper surface prep anythings possible, so since you're doing alright I should probably shut up right about now.

I normally won't mix brands Especially after the Rust-o-leum fiasco on a few bodies. But Krylon's Acrylic Crystal Clear has worked with everything I've tried.

I may try Futura Acrylic Floor Polish, I've heard from two reliable sources (my LHS and RCmod.com) that it works very well and is self leveling so no streaks or runs.

I've thought about trying that Future stuff too. One of them bottles would probably last forever, but I've been kinda scared to, I like to play it safe, especially with the final step.

Let us know how it works out if you try it.

RCpics.net strikes again. Instead of deleting images not it won't let you remote link to them.

To see my cars not you have to go to my gallery there at Bilbo Baggins Gallery. I'm can see his point for everybody remote linking to images on his site but those images are branded with the site name and they are advertising for him.

It looks like he's needs to get some money to help pay the upkeep of his site. I know he wanted $25.00 a month for a year (in advance) from a site to allow it's members to host contest images.

I won't pay him.
If anything we could do the same here if money was generated for more space and bandwidth, but as it is now - it all comes outta my pocket, which is why I can't offer more as of now.
