Where does everybody get those decals from, becasue I can't find any at hobbytown or King RC and thats the only rc stores around me besides walmart and target and big lots selling clones and other Bits, o and Radioshack, Just wondering o and where do Ya'll get 4.2 motors from toyeast.com? or elsewhere?

and yes, toyeast has the 4.2's. i'm sure there are other places that sell em too.

Hey guys, thanks for the props! And a big thanks to hue35 for snappin photos of these bitches. I've added a couple below that I took before I tinted the windows to show some details you cant see in the other photos.

We are both Apple sponsored, you know. Don't worry, bitPimps has the passenger door (see below). This body actually sucks for doing the window trim, because the mold isn't all that crisp so you are basically freehanding it. If I could go back I might not have done them. And yeah, I had to use those numbers, but I was thinking of the Hendrix tune "If 6 was 9".

Actually it's not flat black. It's carbon fiber. The hood and the wing are both carbon fiber made with carbon fiber decal stock cut to the exact shape. Check it out:

And I haven't seen anyone make jap alteeza style taillights yet, so I put those in. Masked to clear and painted silver on the inside, with the colored inserts.

And the decals except the carbon fiber and numbers are custom, printed on Testor's decal paper (which is better than that other kind).

Where did you get that CF sticker stock? It's looks perfect, and obviously conforms to contours well. Nice job covering that wing.

So that Testors decal paper works pretty good huh? Can you get that at like Walmart?

I got the carbon fiber decals from Scale Motorsport. I got the Carbon Fiber Black/Pewter & Black/Bronze Composite Fiber (1:43rd scale) Code: 1443, and I used less than 1/4 of the pewter/black sheet to do both hoods and wings. It's quality stuff, a little expensive at $8.00 a sheet, but I could do 10 or so cars out of one sheet. I cut the decals kinda how you do flames, I covered the hood with masking tape, cut around the panel lines, peeled it off, lay the cut tape hood shape on the decal paper and cut around it plus about 1mm to allow it to settle into the panel lines. About 3 applications of decal solvent to get it to lay nice and smooth. The wing was a little tougher and I had to cut darts to allow it to wrap the edge.

And the Testor's paper is 6 sheets of 5.5" x 8.5" clear or white (I use clear) part number 9201, blue envelope with yellow stripe. I used the clear coating spray that came with my first set of decal stuff (SuperCal). I think you can get it at Wal-Mart. I have a Canon color printer, i960.

You took on a great task for a racer. The Supra is the WORST handling Bit
body made. High center of gravity makes it flip so damn easy. I see you've dropped that baby a bit. How does it handle compared, to say your Porche? I'm Pimp'n out a Supra for Lil Matrix, first time I've done a Supra. There is plenty room to drop the front cause of the shape of the hood except where the PCB cover meets the bottom outside edges of the windshield. Did you hafta mod there? I also noticed you tab lowered the rear.

The Supra I got from Superfly in the moderator's contest is probably one of my, if not my best handling car for large tracks. Supefly obviously uses his cars and knows how to dial them in.

I completely hated the Supra when I first started driving bits. I thought they were the worst handling body, period. There's probably a thread here where I say as much in colorful language. But once I started throwing mosfets in and lowering them, they've become my best racers. They weigh a little more than average, and the weight is in the lower part of the body. Somehow, I think that extra weight helps the handling at higher speeds. For how small the body is, there's lots of room to lower it, and the fact that all 4 wheels are kind of enclosed makes it great for the kind of racing hue and I do. As much as I hate to say it, it's kind of like NASCAR racing, except slightly more complex than an oval. Lots of banging off eachother and the walls.

You can get the Supra body really low, but you have to replace the PCB cover and clean out the rear wheel wells. I cut a piece of Microsizer packaging plastic to slightly smaller than the PCB cover, lay it on top of the pcb, and then cut a piece of black electrical tape just the right length to cover the plastic piece and have about 3/16" on each side left to tape it down to the chassis. I also tear out the sway bar and use springs. in the back, I use the small felt polishing bit in my Dremel to very gently grind out the rear wheel wells. You don't have to change the profile or the outward appearance of the wheel opening, just carve away the body on the inside a very small amout, just enough to keep the tires from rubbing.

Doing that stuff will allow you to tab-lower the front almost 2 full thicknesses of the tab, and about 1 1/2 thicknesses in the rear.

Hue has both of those cars right now, but I'll take some pictures of the lowered tabs and the rest of the chassis when I get mine back wo you can see what I'm talking about.

I tab lowered the front of mine then lowered the suspension to finish bringing down the body. I've never tab lowered the rear, I dremel a new slot and then fill it and the old one with putty when possible. If you look at any of the rides I did for the auction you'll see how smuth the rear is. You're right about the Supra's weight being low, that double front spoiler and the thickness along the side skirts is where the weight is. I filed down the PCB cover to get it to fit around the bottom ends of the windshield, gotta keep the cover in tact for interior purposes. Got all the body work & paint done tonight. Completing the interior and will detail tonight (maybe), then clearcoat.
