VW Van T1

Post by papataratuga »

Surfin' season may be over... even though, let me show you my newest bit of modding stuff I just finished.

body by raceleg (again)
CRW-alurims (handmade by a dude of www.rc-micro.de)
selfmade decals (Quicksilver, Burton, Speck, Calvin&Hobbes, licence plate surfboard, VW-Logo on spare tire)
airbrush paintjob
spare tire mounted with a thumbtack
rack on the roof made from 1mm-welding rod
travelbags from a revell-kit, painted to be looking old
surfboard airbrushed and tribal-decal
cables on the roof are electrowires
jerrycan on platform from the same revell-kit
driver handpainted
inside of the car is real wood
exhaust pipe made from a wire-end sleeve
microlamps (1,5V, no LEDs) on front and rear are soldered to the motorcontacts, so they light up when driving

Sweet! That looks excellent!
Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

With so many cool details, it seems almost silly to say, my favorite part is the Calvin and Hobbes.

That is really cool :-o it would go faster if you put it on the table instead of the pencils. :-)

we haven't had a lot of mods lately have we? i would suggest an end of the year contest...but if we did, I think we'd already have the winner.

Thanks for all replies. Happy you like it. Get to work dudes, I'd love to see some more bitstuff around here again... I'm working on a fully proportional bit at the moment. So there's more to come soon anyway!

Anybody else think that really needs a custom Two-tone ZZ Beetle sitting next to it?

You guys are all slackers! Or else I've done too many this year, I post a new ride and people go "Eh, it's yet another Frizzen ride" :-?

It should be an old-school bug on the Herbie ZZ, but this was all there was when I did it. it's at the beach anyway. 8-)
