Body is just held on by small pieces of high density foam (with ahdesive on one side) stuck to the outsides of the chassis, one on each side. The front of the body rests on top of the board and the high plastic toward the front and the body is just held on by the pressure of the foam. It's pretty secure.
The axle is K&S steel rod bought from a local hardware store, and is a bit larger that stock axle. There are small diameter rods available, but I already had this one. I had to drill out the gear, the chassis and the stock ZZ wheels to get them to fit onto it. And I put a small cylindrical piece of plastic on the opposite side of the drive gear to hold the axle in place at the rear assembly.

When I to do a how-to on the front end, which would you guys rather see?
A Cars generation Zip, or a ZZSE? the only difference would be the steering mechanics, the suspension assembly is relatively the same.
I say those, because I don't think a coil driven steering will work well enough, I really think a gear driven steering would be best being that it uses a motor to get it's torque.

I think I would probably prefer the Cars gen. zipzap (that's the same as the transformers and 3rd gen right? Fast servo) because 1. the steering rate is faster and 2. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but my ZZSE supply is getting low and I've still got plenty of those fast little Baricarde's.

Na it's too long to be a teraintitan axle he just did the front first and then saw what wheelbase he was dealing with and then he rather went to a craft store to get some tubeing. Then he cut that down to size. Soooooo yea that's how I think he did that. And ibj what is the steering ratious like on the little bugger?

Actually, I did the rear first. Then after assembling the front wheels to the c-hubs, I lined up the wheelbase to determine the length of the arms for the front....

and the steering?

...was last, and still not 100% functional.... return to center being the reason as stated earlier.
I can be a bit of a perfectionist with some things....

Have you made any little jumps outa cards or drive it outside yet?
And the steering I would take the front end apart (if it's not to much trobble) and sand every thng down a little bit and see if that helps

I'd rather see a Cars or later ZZ donor platform. The SE was only really good if you did a duty-cycle mod (how many years has that been unavailable?) on them and fought with them a lot to get decent steering. Cars or later are really good if you just remove a resistor.

Fix it right, not just wimp out and do 2 steering springs...

i ended up finding the body i made like 3-4 years ago for the 1/64 stadium truck i started but never finished. the chassis i started is long gone with the lipo battery and board, lol. anyways, heres the body i came up with, modeled after the micro-t, lets see the write up on how this was done so i can get this body on something and being used

oh, and I'd like to see a how to on a se, considering I have about three stripped se chassis with the rear music spring set up just waiting for a working front end....... But I can live with whatever you deside on doing....
