I had a lot of slot cars as a kid, and I always fantasized that I could drive off the track and keep goin'. So, when those NOS Bottle cars came out with their HO scale intact, I had to build me up a slot car that goes off the track.
T-Jets are my faves, so that's where I started. This was a total bitch. The body is screwed onto custom mounts behind the front wheel wells, and one screw in the back from underneath. The body is literally crammed on the chassis, and I broke the steering wires FIVE DAMN TIMES trying to get the shit to fit. It's not the best driving car, but it works pretty well, all things considered.

nice man. my javelin shell was originally for one of those fast and stupidest cars but i broke a knuckle so i just threw her in the parts bin and put the shell on a zipzap.

I remember your days....
those days were the shiznit.

I like the design of this chassis because it's very compact, but it's a bitch to work with compared to bits. I lost the gear that goes on the axle and almost threw it in the parts bin. Then I figured, parts for what? After calming down, I tried the pinion from a zip zap and it worked. I may try another one later if the price of those cars drops to cheepniss.

she does look sweet, vettes were always muscle / sports cars - great marriage and the first US car to do so
