That chop-top Challenger of Cabo's is my favorite car online. So, I had to start building one of my own. I am pretty excited about the way the Camaro is shaping up. The plan for the Challenger is purple metallic with the standard black trim, and the Camaro will be light metallic green with a white/gold burst flame job. I'll post pix when they're done... probably a while from now (I'm slow).

Man that camaro is looking nice.

I was going to keep a pair of these bodies stock, so now it looks like I have to buy a another set, before I get tempted to go hacking them up.

I here ya, I have 2 more sets in "the drawer", which makes the choppin a little easier. I love the shit outta these bodies... every time I go into RS, I come out with another camaro/challenger crack, I mean, pack.

lol I'm feelin ya hue, that and the shitty sales guy experience I had the last go around are keeping me away.
those bodies were the reason I finally purchased my first zz, and my second.
but I'm putting my foot down now - love those bodies, but damn it I want a hard top that looks good on my bit! lol

Wait till you guys see the sick green color hue35 has mixed up. And the flames on the Camaro are incredible! I get to see these about twice a week and see how they progress. They're going to be a totally badass pair!

Those look tight as hell. Con't wait to see the finished product. Question...do you guys strip all the paint or just paint over the existing paint. I have tried all the methods I read about for stripping paint, but keep ending up with sludge bodies.

from what I've seen, you can paint over just about any body as long as you have the right primer. I use testors clear flat primer and get fantastic results. I'm sure we all use diff methods tho

yea Ahh5hit - the only paint I take off is from cars I've already painted before.
All the other cars that come painted stock - just primer over them.

Hey Ahh5hit, one method for stripping paint that I've heard works great is letting the body soak in Castrol Super Clean for 1/2 to 2 hours. I guess it loosens up the paint and does not harm the plastic at all. I've read about it on a few different modelling forums from some serious model builders. I have a paint job to strip, so I'm gonna get some CSC today... I'll post the results.

Also, as Cabo said, no need to strip a stock paint job. The one I'm stripping has too much paint built up (I like me a lotta paint).

the way i just found on a clone body that was made out of blue plastic and had painted yellow star's n' shit was to take my dremel with teh polishing tips and a nice amount of polishing compound and it came off really easy leaving the blue body exposed. after you're done if you have the soft wire brush you can quickly remove the hardened polishing compound just don't hold the dremel in one place for two long or you will melt you're body.

How are you working around the rear tab problem? ZZ rear tab is longer than that of a BCG. Do you add to the rear tab of the BCG or add to the body itself?

I glued an extended rear tab underneath the stock tab. It lowered the back just the right amount, and the tab feels real solid.
