Thanks. I wasn't sure what kind of putty you guys were using. Everyone is so resorceful, it could be anything....

Thanks again........

I'm goin' to chop up my first body!!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ended up using 2 totally different putties, but its what got the ball rollin'. I started the next night.

Hobbylite mixed with Super glue, and Sculpey, which you bake.

That Sculpey stuff is like a Fimo knock off. My wife has a bunch of that stuff, I've played with both.

Is that body made entirely out of that stuff?

I thought that stuff was kinda heavy. How's that working out for ya?

The Sculpey stuff was a little heavy, but all I used it for was the interior flat base. Then after I got the interior in and the filler in (Hobbylite, its like heavy air) I dremeled the hell out of the Sculpey to make it really, really, thin.

The body is from a Bensu that I chopped up. In the pics, its the bodies side by side, before and after the chop.

Its all good so far...I did have a scare about a week ago, when i went to try it on a chassis and it didn't fit. So I dremeled and dremeled, till it fit. Plus it made it alot lighter.

That's cool, that's probably not bad at all.

Edit---I got some better pics up. As of 5:50pm Mar..10th......Went and borrowed someones camera. I'm just not a very good photographer.

I think everything is working fine now. I tried to access my own pics thru a link in the thread and got a maintinance page, then tried it a different way and got in with no problem. I got rid of the original link, just use the lastest link in the thread............

Here you go. Sorry for any confusion.

Screw it. I had time to move some of the pics to Photobucket so I can put them up here. But you can still go to picturetrail and enter "sg219" and see all of them and more.

All right now...I think I'll just do this from now on. I like this photobucket site.

I still have a long way to go. I have to add the windsheild, wing, steering wheel and the detail paint. Plus the clearcoat.

Allright here is the other project I've been tryin' to complete. This car has parts donated from the following cars.....

Dub City - dash, steering wheel, speakers/amp box
Imports Racer - seats, windsheild, center consol, wing
Wal-Mart Tuner - hubcaps
ZipZap - wheels, extenders, wide tires, knuckles, rear axle and gears
Bensu - body shell
Shen Qui - Chassis with lots of weight reduction by dremel
Perfection - motor 4.2
Perfection - battery 200 mah

It comes fully carpeted on the floor and also a carpeted front dash.

I hope the pics do it justice!!! Probably not, but I'll try. I'll take more when I learn how to get a better pic.

are you drunk when taking these pictures or what? lol
just screwin with ya dude lol

this mofo looks kick ass, but I wanna see more detail.

I'm no photo pro either, some of the other pimps can probably give you better advice but - maybe you're too close to the object?

Not drunk, but I do have a BUZZ.

I'll try from farther away. I've tried all kinds of lighting, angles, 2 different cameras. I don't know, I wish could get better pics.

I'd love to show the SG I painted on the seats and the pimpin' carpeting. I'll try some more pics later.

That's what's up! Very nice, dude. What'd ya do, score some flocking? How did ya get yer carpet effect? I cant wait to see this in person.... and the 1/2 and 1/2 ride, too.

EDIT... bring the rides and the cam up next time ya come up, and we'll set up the kitchen table deal that seems to work pretty well when I use yer cam.

I used that green grass/soil stuff for model RR's and mixed it with ultrafine clear glitter, then painted the surface I wanted to carpet with Tacky Glue. Then sprinkled it on, let it sit a minute or two, then used a can of Dust Off to get rid of the excess.
