That's gonna be friggin' hot...I love the Ford GT40. I hope you are gonna stay with the same color scheme too.

yeah, I'm gonna go with the Gulf color scheme. This particular shell is already kinda screwed up, I used some brake fluid to strip paint and it attacked the clear window areas more than I read it would, so this may be a prototype for a second one.

i just stripped down a few old zz chassis. these were both horrible losses that i did right when this kit came out. ive been using only laquer since.

i used regular isopropyl alcohol and a lot of elbo grease to strip the paint i put on and to my surprise the factory paint. i sanded a little bit but i wanted to lay down a little bit of black paint to help show the blemishes better. im not hoping to have clear windows on either of these.

It's a Lamborghini Jota :-)

Maybe I'm wrong since I don't own one, but I'm not wrong much.. 8-)

Yeah, it's a Jota pullback. So far I've shaved off the front spoiler from the sides, filled in the funky Jota vents, sanded the rear louvers smooth.

I've been procrastinating on the really hard part: adding the air intakes to the rear fender flares and the area just behind the rear side windows. I may reshape the hood vent a little more like the GT40, but it's not that far off as it is. Now that the weather is getting worse, I'll probably head down to the basement and get this going again.

Dude....definitely take that middle piece out of the hood vent. I think that is going to be key to making it look authentic. Its amazing how close that Jota shell is already.

I can't wait to see how this one turns out. I've got a special interest in this one because the GT40 is a favorite car of mine.
