Camaro stuntjumper

Post by HirotoR34 »

Last night my daughter and I set up a few jumps in the living room and proceeded to jump coke bottles with a couple of my MT's. I noticed that in some cases the trucks would land ok, just to flip over. So after seeing Sinned's wide track MT mod, I was about to cannibalize some MT rims, until I came across the wheels I used on my Focus WRC Xmod. They fit perfectly, and after some serious floggings I noticed how much more stable it is on landings. Even cornering stability is improved.

So Normal Xmod rims would work as well... Hmm so simple yet the result I must admit looks cool.

I got these from a 1/24th scale model origionally. I'm pretty sure that most wheels would work.

I like that setup, those rims are hott, and look great with the Yenko body on a MT.
Does it slow the MT down any, or affect your turning radius?

That's cool. Gotta love it when something totally goofy ends up working out pretty well.
I wonder if the extra stress, if a knuckle or something won't snap after a few hard landings?

@Cabo i doubt it would snap, its not that much weight in comparison of the knuckles stregnth and its not moving in a to stressed way..

For some reason I think that wheel would give in first, if anything did... but I don't know really. :???:

yeah, because the first thing that the wheels will do is bow on a hard landing, and that stress goes to the axle, and goes to the knuckle and dogbones which are solid, so it makes more sense that the wheel itself would break because of its thickness, but again like you cd im not sure.

I honestly dont think we can push a MT hard enough to brake a knuckle but im sure Betty K. could prove us wrong :???:

i think i've met my match man!! :-D i've done lotsa stupid stuff with all my micros but none of the stock parts have ever broken, just worn out.
i think you'd have to throw a mt at a wall before anything broke! even then....

Ok, now after more jumps than I can count at this point, It hasn't affected the steering at all. The thing goes in as straight of a line as it could when I first got it. The most "air" this thing is getting is about 6 or 7" anyways, so the landings aren't so bad. These wheels are pretty rugged, so I don't see them breaking any time soon.
It usually lands on all fours at pretty much the same time. I'm thinking of setting up a series of jumps in succession and have my own indoor "stadium" track.....

It definitely needs a steering upgrade with the wider stance
