More VW fun

I found this body at a Grocery Store in Florida of all places so I just had to fit it to my Epoch! I did a mod on it where I extended the Chassis then I modded the wheels and built brackets to hold the body on.

It didn’t take too long a few hours the wheels were the hardest to make work but the tires that came with the VW were just perfect solid rubber and just soft enough to grip real well on my pine floors!

That's beautiful! I really dig how accurate and "stock" it looks.

Do you get any kind of suspension action with that H-plate setup?

The Epoch has alike a T-plate suspension. You can change the spring, and there is a screw to adjust height. Its a pretty effective setup.

So SWG, is that a die cast or plastic body? It it fairly stable? How is your turning radius with that extended chassis? Sorry for all the questions, I just get curious.

The T plate extension has a lot more give in it then the stock one not enough to mess things up but I was thinking of putting a spring between the motor and the rest of the chassis to stiffen it up.

The body is mostly plastic thats what I liked about it just the top is metal and its light weight metal only weights about a few grams over a typical Epoch body.

The turning radius is the same as standard the wheels actualy turn under the body and dont hit the wheel wells. (I trimed the wheel wells in the front just a bit so the back of the wheel would not hit but it was not enough to notice.

its not top heavy as the body is balanced real well and it sits low enough. I really dont want to do to much more to it as I would like to keep it as stock as much as I can I might do a little more detail paint to it but thats about it.

Its hard to find 1/43rd bodies to fit that fit the Epoch. Which leads me to one more question.

What scale is that now? It couldn't be 1/43rd.

CD the standard Epoch is about 4 1/4" the VW is 4 3/4" so not much change there but enough to put it in another scale (not sure what scale?)

My guess would be 1/32, considering the habbitof toy and model makers and the fact that the VW isn't a very large vehicle.

Very nice ride, by the way. I like it just as is. It would appear that one of the back doors opens too.

I think 1/32 is 5" or over so I think its somewhere between 1/43 and 1/32 scale.

Probably 1/35 scale.

I suggest you try one out I think you will really like the Epoch! Propo RC and one of the best cars for indoor racing I have seen (for propo).
