Here we go....

Cabo started to paint his cars with this two-tone colors scheme.
Fading colors from the back of the car to the front.

Well, I ain't got two colors...so I'm going with one (purple medal flake)
I have a purple MS sport S2000.

I also don't got any "Masking goop" for the windows... So I used elmers white glue. (let it dry).

This is the first time i'm using a spray paint verses a bottle and brush.

I sprayed only from the back of the car forward. Leaving the nose of the car unpainted.

My goal is to have a 'see through' section faded into a solid color.

My assumetion is: after the paint drys, I will beable to peel/pop off the elmers glue from the windows and have them look original.

You always tease us before you post pictures. Why do you do that to us?

Yeah I like those Purple S2000s, I wonder if I back painted one with silver if it would look as cool as my blue RX-7.

That is probably a good idea with the Elmer's. Let us know how that works out. I just use plain ol' masking tape. I used to use 3M, then I started using some cheapie stuff because it is thinner, but it's too sticky, and will peel off fresh paint under it, which is not good for doing graphics. Sooner or later I will break down and buy some nice thin masking film. I used to have some of that stuff, and it was great, because it was easy to cut curves with a blade, and didn't get paint build up around the edge as bad.

As to the Elmer's, I have not seen anyone else try this...So I did.
I will let you know how it comes out.

I've tried different verisons of tape, but my paint always bleeds underneath.

The Shiat is drying now..so when I get home later...I'll post some pics.
I'll have to work on some matching rims...

you got an excellent idea with the glue, definetally let us know how it works. makes me think of that rubber cement when we were kids, that shiat should be perfect, it's rubbery too.

tape always bleeds a little, try using a rounded toothpick to help force the tape down, that helps stop a lot of the bleeding, but usually not all of it.

Two things you can do do help prevent bleeds.
1. Rub the tabe down with your fingernail, making sure to get it into crevices.
2. Lay your first 2 coats thin, to create a seal around the edge, and then lay your last coats thicker.

Work for me. I rarely get bleeds, and if I do, I revert to plan C, get some touch up paint in a matching color.

Wow, I'm very impressed with the use of Elmer's Glue. I feel like it's Cabo's work.

to be honest, purple is NOT my favorite color.
but ya gotta bend every once and a while.

I think I got every color of the MS Sport series.
I should try the technique (of Cabo's two-tone) on a non-purple car.

I'm diggin the use of this Elmer's. With a 3yr old kid, I got PLENTY of Elmers (Gallons).

nox, wonder if crazydave's technique of painting from the inside would help that purple in the front?

you could always black out the windows too if you get tires of the "Dicso Pimp" look

I too wonder how it would look painted from the inside. Red might work good on the inside. I don't know...

I think white on the inside would be dope. probably brighten up that front end, making a brilliant purple fading into a metallic version of that same color...
