CD inspired Mustang

Post by HirotoR34 »

Okay, so some of my latest projects may have been plain in the ole paint department, but I hope this makes up for it....After seeing CD lay down the flames on so many occasions, it inspired me to give it a shot. I think I kinda did a more scalloped style, but it came out ok. Can't wait to try it on another project........

I think flames are about the hardest type of graphic to pull off, and I really like those. (I should they looked a lot like mine before you put the outline in. That caught me off guard. ) Nice job, glad I influenced someone. :-o

I believe Hiroto is even using the same or similar paints as I am. The only thing you'd do different from the tutorial is you'd be using the outside of the mask so you'd be laying the flames on top of your base color. That allows you the opportunity to fade in other colors (lighter colors first). In the tutorial I used the inside of the paint mask so the flames would be the base color.

You guys are badass with those flames. CD's truck now this Mustang... WOW

Where'd those rims come from. The rear doesn't look like they should fit into that shell. Also, is it a ZZ chassis?

Fine piece my friend....

The rims are from a jada toys Drod diecast. I had to cut them in half cause of the width, enlarge the wheel opening, and then shave the hell out inner fenderwells to lower the body onto them. Believe it or not, they don't rub.........
