Chevy Nova in the works.

What's up pimps? It have been a few months since I have really done any modding. I decided to work on a project I started aways back. Anyway here is what I got so far. Starting with a Chevelle ZZ body, looks very similar to a 70 Nova.

The hood and grill came off of a Pro Rodz 70 Nova diecast.

The wheels are off a Dubs Muscle car (just sitting under body)

and the axle gear is from a shitty cheap slotcar set we sell at the ratshack. The gear will allow me to tuck the fatties under the body.
I still have alot of work on getting a chassis modded to work with the gear setup. I have to make a new axle mount and motor mount since the motor will now need to be moved. Plus figure out how to fit it all under the body.It still has a long way to go.

Old Novas are easily in my top 5, so I'm gonna love to see you pull this off.
I love the hood. When I was a kid my dad would take me to the drags to watch my next door neighbor race, and he had a '70 Nova, with that same hood, except his was the natural white, because he never got around to painting his car.
The grill is looking a tad off to me. Is it too narrow maybe?

Thanks CD and DT, good to be back in action...
The grille is a little short for the body. I will try to round off the fenders a little to make it look more better.
After a few hours of cutting and trimming, I managed to get the rear end installed. I used the back half of the pro rodz chassis and fused it to the SEs.
Turned out pretty good I do think. Now I need to figure out how to mount the motor and shit.

Nice, and I love the 396, good motor.
That's a good reference too, see how the grill starts wrap around the side? I think that's what I was talking about before.

Thats one kickass Nova blindrider!
I managed to get the grille aligned about as good as I can get it now.

The diecast car was a little narrow compared to the ZZ body but I think it works.
I also buttoned up the chassis as far as getting the wheels modded, mounted, and the motor installed.

Now all I need to figure out is what kind of power source to squeeze in and get the the elecronics reinstalled.
Then a little more shaping of the body. So far I rounded off the rear and front fenders to match the Nova.

Awesome man... I too love a killer hoosier Nova. Funny side note. Novas never got marketed in spanish speaking countries, cause Nova in spanish means "doesn't go"....lol
Looks real good sat. Another one of my favs is the "Dart".. Awesome cars.

Sat man your away for a while and dang you show up with one hot ride that is just some sweet work! I like the stance of that and the way you set up the gears to tub the wheels is spot on!
Can't wait to see the finished product I might have to copy this one!

Thanks SWG, After seeing all the great rides you guys have been putting out in my absense. I felt I had to come back with something worth while.
Now I need to prep the body for paint and cross my fingers I don't mess it up.

Got a little more work done today. I got the chassis finished. Well I still need to attach the antenna and install the power source. I have some 90mah etec lipos on order and hope (pray) that one will fit. I am going to try to squeeze it in along the trunk line under the body above the rear wheels. I have left a slot in the back of the body in hopes it will fit just right. Ohh I also changed out the wheels with some SS rallye wheels.
I also got the body painted and clear coated. I used charcoal metallic duplicolor and clear coat. Once it fully dries I will finish it up and try to get some beauty shots.
Edit: Ok I let it dry and got it together. WARNING!!! this picture is horrible and I will get a good picture tonight while at work if I can. But anyways ere it is.
