DB5 Road & Track car

Post by crazydave »

The DB5 James Bond car was one of those that I thought RS did a really good job on, just needed to lower it on the chassis, and it looked pretty cool. The only change I wanted to make was find some more realistic spoke wheels.

Then sat4life posted a pic a of a DB5 racer, and I loved it. I didn't want to step on Sat's toes too much and do an exact copy, but I had to do something influenced by it. When I removed the bumpers the body looked so much better, and sportier. I decided to just give it a white stripe and make it kind of like a track car that gets driven on the street.

Thanks for the inspiration sat... I prefer this version much better. :-o :-)

I'm lovin it CD.
All it needs now are those circle number discs. For the classic old school track day special. :-o

rippin job man
Maxx

EDIT: hey, you removed the front bumper. Nice.
Now you have to get another DB5 and recreate "crazy dave's DB5".
I'm gunna miss how it once was, won't you?

The last SEs were great. If you haven't got one, grab one, I'm positive it'll feed tailights to your first generation FET modded SE. :-o

It was lowered in the first original pic, but I haven't lowered it any more since... this car does still have the lights in there, and unless you get all the wires just right, they'll push up on the body. I smashed it down really good right before the pic too. That and the angle of the shot is probably making the difference.

I tried to stall myself to give him time to post his first...
...but that's also why I didn't go with the full racer look with the number plates. I guess he'll just have to do the extra racer details I was too lazy to do. Like adding the air ducts in the front, shaving the trim, particularly in that airduct on the side. ;)
He could go an entirly different direction, and it'll be interesting to see. :-o

Exactly what I was thinking and am going to go check out! lol

Killer CD! I love how that white stripe looks wrapping around the lower parts of the car, both front and back.
