15$ at walmart. all they had was blue/purple. this stuff is better than the plasti-kote. it comes with a black primer but you could probably use a different color and get slightly different effects.

That is cool. Dave likes. I'm sure the pictures aren't captureing it, because that looks nothing like I pictured it would, but I like it better than I thought. I was thinking about going with the gree/silver combo, but now, I'm not sure. :???:

Is it Die cast?

Yeah, I agree, most Krylon automotive paints are better than Plasti-Cote. I actually avoid Plasti-Cote products like a plague, but I am liking their Candy Clear coat. Damn this stuff is glossy.

Nice... that dude has a trunk full of cold Pabst and a carton of Pall Malls duct-taped to the visor... 8-track tape blastin' Foghat.

You might be able to do the paint more justice with your digicam if your camera has a manual mode that lets you control the exposure time. First, turn the flash off and set the camera on a secure surface or a tripod and light the car with a desk lamp or two (halogen is best). Move the light(s) until it looks good the little monitor and shoot with a long exposure (probably a few seconds, but it depends on the lighting). When I don't have a tripod, I use the timer so that I'm not touching (and moving) the camera when the shutter goes off.

Don't know if any of this applies or helps or makes sense, but the bottom line is that the flash is what kills most close-up shots.

What is that body?

nah she is plastic. paint sticks to it pretty well.

to get this thing to attach to a zipzap chassis was a challenge and 2/3 tho.

i removed the hood and the bumpers and the windows first(they were attached only by glue. then i had to cut crap out from under where the hood goes so the chassis would fit. i also had to trim the fenders a little so theres no rubbing. then i glued the hood back on and there was a little hole so i had to fill it in with putty. then i scuffed her up with a brillo and layed down the primer. i did 3 coats of primer. let dry for an hour or so. then 2 coats of color let dry for a while and then some clear. put the windows back in and clear coated one last time. and well clearcoat on clear plastic makes frosted white plastic which i will accept as a pleasant side effect. as far as making it bling even more i took triflow teflon bike lube and rubbed it on a few times. makes her shinier.

the real hard part was attaching it onto the chassis without lookin dumb. so i used jbkwik of all materials.
