Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

back to the monster trucks...
mr. ups man just dropped off the bigfoot and monster booster kit that i ordered last week. here's some inital thoughts after a few minutes of play.
chassis
first off, this has regular steering (not tank style). steering is done by a vertically mounted hard wired motor. the front suspension only has about an 1/8" of travel (probably more for show than anything else). batteries are made by gp and is a dual cell 2.4v 120mah pack. there's a center metal shaft for the 4wd, and tiny little dogbones going to the front wheels.
body
the body has great detail and the painting and decoration is awesome. lights are like the se's; fronts light up when going forward, rears light up in reverse.
controller
controller is thicker than a standar zip, takes 4 aaa batts. the buttons/joysticks have nice big discs on top, much nicer feel than the std controller. much of the housing has the soft touch paint (similar to the super slicks controller). the latching arms that hold the truck down during charging look a little flimsy.
performance
not too shabby. with the std motor it's pretty slow, but has a decent amount of torque. with the 21k motor, it takes 5 or 6 feet to get up to full speed, but i was surprised at how fast it actually was. range was not as good as my se's, more like my regular zipzaps.
summary
as far as 1/64th monster trucks go, i have the kid-riffic one they sold at tru, the tomy trucks, the nkok trucks, and the nikko hummer. from best to worst , i'd say that the rs truck is best, closely followed by the nkok, the nikko, the tomys, and then the tru truck.
going to take some pics and videos now, i'll try to get them online by the end of the day. any chance of getting a gallery here? rcpics is a pain.

Great review, richh... Good to hear that these have real steering and not the tank crap... that's definately the deal breaker for me, and I'm sure a few others...
Shoot a PM over to Cabo, and I'm sure he'll do his best to try and accomodate you...richh wrote:any chance of getting a gallery here? rcpics is a pain.
