When should your kids kill themselves?

Post by sidewinder »

If you've been thinking "maybe I should kill myself to save the planet" or "I hope my kids off themselves as a offering to Gia the Spirit of the Earth" but just didn't know at what age they should do it, ABC (the Austrialan Broadcasting Comapny) tells you on their website. Thank Gia we now know how long we should live! I was supposed to kill myself at age 11...give it a shot and I'll see you on the other side!

Shoot 17.1 and I just turned 18 on Cinco de Mayo. I just missed it. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for the second lifetime.

I readjused everything just for fun...I did everythinng green. Then just for shits and giggles I picked over a 100K a year income and sid I spent it on ordinary stuff. Doing everything else these 'pigs' (their term) wanted and they said I should die at age 1.7. :???: Humm, I wonder if this is more about socialism and class envey than actually giving a flying fuck about the environment? :???: However if you make over 100K and spend it all on green "investments" (i.e. give it to them and their friends) then ou little pig turns into an angle and flys away and tells you that you can live forever. :???: I'm getting so sick of these bastards...and I was thinking of moving to Australia some day...guess not. Maybe Java...at least I should be able to get a good cup of coffee there.

Hey BettyK, how is to live down your way? It sounds like its big enough to still be left alone...I was considering relocating down that way but then I saw they came for your guns and now I see this by a major TV network. It sounds like you guys are getting over-run by a fascist type government, or at least set up to go that way soon. Of course its no better up here, I'm seriously looking at getting the hell out of here in a few years. I think the US is just about where Germany was in 1935 or 36. We no longer have two political parties, we have one oligarchy that pretends there are two sides to keep us from rebelling. Is it any better down there?

I'll give my 2c if I may :-o
Living on the East coast of Australia is like living anywhere else developed - its suburban sprawl meets soccer mums and SUV's. But thats just the narrow strip down our east coast - then you have the whole rest of the continent at your disposal, where if you want to disappear it's easy enough. I'm now based out of a mining town right up on the North West Coast - and it really is a frontier town. The local pub is in the record books for most stabbings. But I go 4-wheeling and fishing every weekend - there are very few restrictions on where you go or what you can do up here.

Our government system isn't quite as one-sided as the American system but it's not fantastic. Our "liberal party" were ousted recently - a bunch of conservatives so in bed with Big Business that they sacrificed individual, environmental and employee rights to help rake in the $$.
Our new "Labour" Government was once heavily in bed with the trade Unions and is still closely linked, although they've done some work to distance the agendas. They've restored some of the balance from the liberal days, but i'm worried by their "all things to all people" approach.

Re: our gun laws - i've never really had a problem with them. I'm a licenced shooter with a .22 and a .303 rifle and I'm quick enough on the bolt that I don't see why I would ever need a semi or full auto. Might be fun, but i don't really need one. That said, if you join a sporting shooter's club you can still own a semi auto, just with stricter storage rules etc. IMO it's irresponsible not to secure your guns in a safe anyway.

Oh, BTW - the ABC is a government funded broadcaster that also provides grants funding for film and media projects - the "planet slayer" thing has gone around before - apparently it was granted funding in 2003 (incl. hosting space) for it's "message of conservation and sustainability", but The ABC always has a few ratbags hanging around.

Thanks, sounds much better than I thought. I was thinking of heading to the middle of our country because its isolated like your outback but thats where our civil war will begin (in Montana, I'd bet reall money on there or Colorado). I misunderstood the gun thing, I thought they had taken everything except shotguns...and yes, reasonable gun owners either lock them in a gun safe or at very least use trigger-locks.

I may have to take a closer look your direction. Thanks for the info :-o I've already checked out some of your dirt track oval racing and the prints look so familure that I think I could easily adapt to living there as long as I was near one of the tracks.

yeah, what he said :-o

we have very strict gun laws over here and that's how i like it. i'm not anti-gun, i'd like to have a go at a rifle range sometime but i think semi and fully automatic weapons or handguns have no place in the hands of a civilian.

and you can't buy guns and ammo at any old store here either, we have strictly licensed gun shops. it is not a right to bear arms, it is a huge responsibility.

Seriously? Wow, and I thought I had it good here being able to make 2-3 races a week durring the summer. You have no idea of how big an incentive that is to hop on a ship and make my way down there. :???:

Typically here in hedland (and a lot of other country towns) there is one or two big race meets a month which run on a friday/Saturday night. But often drivers will do the circuit of the local tracks and line themselves up every weekend.

They race anti-clockwise, and nearly all of the cars are aussie (rhs) drive. :D Check out http://www.speedway.net.au/ and http://forum.australianspeedway.com/
