I smoke Marlboro reds or Doral full flavors, but I might only smoke a pack every day and half. Unless it's Miller time or I have nothing to do all day.
I did try the patch and managed to quit for 3 months. (2 of which I was in basic training), but just kinda fell back into smoking.
Might have to try the gum though. With gas prices being to damn high I have to choose gas or smokes, and fuck walking (it's to hot for that crap).

I've been at about 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day for years now. Marlboro Lights. Sucks.
I never tried quitting because I wasn't about to fool myself, I knew better.
Been thinking of quitting for like a year now, doctor even gave me some pills to help. That was back in like Jan. or Feb. I haven't taken a single pill.
If I'm drinking, look out - I'm smoking like a house on fire.
I have a serious love/hate relationship with smoking. Love smoking, but hate that I do.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

indeed cabowabo, but if you quit, you will hate smoking, and love that you stopped.
What pill did you get? Welbutrin? I tried that, but it didn't work for me. I don't mean to get all religious on you guys, but I started saying "I can do all things through the Christ the Lord, who strengthens me" everytime I smoked a cigarette for about a week before I quit. Then I stopped, and everytime I got a bad craving, I would say that because I was getting pissed off at the STUPID DAMNED PACKAGING they put the nicotine gum in. That stuff is a pain in the ass to get out. Not cool when you have been soldering for 3 hours, forgot to get a piece of gum, and are freaking out, getting pissed off because you can't get your deans ultra plug to PLUG THE HELL IN and can't get gum out of the blister pack!
God, I need a piece of gum right now... nicotine withdrawl reaks havoc on my ability to form propper sentence structure...

wellbutrin worked for me.
COLD.
was a 2-pack-a-day 13-years-and-counting smoker.
took the pill for a coupla weeks then lost most cravings.
THEN slowly backed off the cigs. then backed off the wellbutrin.
wont lie to yall it sucked bigtime.
but MUCH easier than cold fuckin turkey.
that was almost 8 yrs ago and never a puff since.
on a mexican vacation i picked up 6 of fidel's cigars for my poker buds and kept one for me. still got it-too afraid to smoke it.
(and i can feel that cigar staring at me)
if anyone trying to quit makes it- even for a little while-expect your buddies to try to get you to start back up.
noone loves a quitter.

Whoops. it was zyban that the doctor put me on. It is the same chemical as buproban, but costs much less. My doc told me that the drug company came out with zyban years ago, and when they found out that it helped people stop smoking, they repackaged it under a different name, got FDA clearance for it (which was really easy since it was already approved for other use) and released it at a higher price (because smokers would pay.)
Just another reason to stay healthy... those drug companies suck.

Meh, it's all about insurance dude, as far as the prices go for a lot of people. (who have insurance)
They constantly change what drug is in what "tier", making certain brands cheaper and others more expensive.
It's all the insurance companies doing business with the drug companies to help hussle their shit by making opposing brands in different tiers.
If they happen to switch your drug to higher tier, like they did some of my other medecine, you'll either pay the higher price or you'll pay less for the generic - either way they win. Fuckers. lol
