Mosfet order #2
hue35 and I are ordering some more. I think we might need to raise the price to $4/set of 4, shipping included. I kinda forgot to factor in postage supplies last time (envelopes, bubble wrap). We're not making a profit on these, just offering to share the quantity discount and shipping costs.
There are different variations of the mod that use 2, 4 or 6 mosfets, but we'll probably still sell them in sets of 4 to keep it simple. As I mentioned in another thread, the little tabs are kinda fragile, so it's a good idea to have some spares.
Post your order here or PM me if you're interested.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Maximan-
Shipping (USPS) is included in the price, so no extra. Assuming you live in the US, anyway.
Here's how your money gets spent: Mosfets are right around 50¢ each (our cost), so $2 for a set of 4, padded envelope = just a little less than a $1, postage = just a little less than a $1. If you add up the pennies, our costs are probably around $3.50 - $3.70. For the time it takes to order, repackage and reship, I'm rounding up.
If you can find them cheaper, or if you want enough of them that you'll get the quantity discount and won't incur the handling fee, go for it. We're just trying to spread the goodness to da hood.

That sucks big horse wee wee that MS doesn't make a friggin booster.hue35 wrote:Would you guys be more interested in mosfets in your car for $20, or a new microsizers (new in box with controller and everything) with the full mosfet mod done for $35 shipped?
Why don't you guys just make a good order from TE, and get some boosters, and some off Mhz cars, and mod em and sell em modded? Did that just make sense?

I'm talkin about an old-skool MS for $35... maybe $30. I'm just thinkin' out loud at this point, I guess. We're pretty comfortable with the regular MS PCB right now... the pros are different, and remember, we're sub-geniuses. Basically, I was figuring cost of car+parts+shipping+$10 - $15 or so for our time (order stuff, do mod, package 'em up, stand in line at the post office)... again, just thinkin' out loud. If we did any, I think we'd want to do a them all at once based on interest... that way we could keep the cost down per car quite a bit. We wouldn't be doing it to make money, just cover our costs with enough left over for a short sack.
I still think you guys could do it... Cabo, I've seen the attention you pay to detail. I'm going to post a tutorial on a simplified version for a regular MS soon. My fuck-ups ended up leading to a version that boosts fwd only, and uses only 2 mosfets. One is a direct swap on the top side of the board and the other is glued to the bottom with 2 wires soldered to it.
Sorry for the rambling,

Aight pimps, you asked for it you got it. Hue35 and I just ordered a shitload of parts and cars. So if you want just MOSFETS to DIY, we got that. If you want a pre-modded MS, we'll have those too. There will be an equal amount of 27 and 49 cars, and the available bodies will be yellow lancer, white skyline, black celica and green clovers. I mean red lancer.
It will take a week or two to get all the stuff and get the mods done, but we'll post when they're available for shipping. It will be first come, first serve, and money talks. If you want to pre-order a particualr frequency or body (they do go hand in hand, you know), let one of us know via PM or post it here and we'll reserve it for you. As hue mentioned they'll be $30-$35 bucks, we'll know fo sure once we get a shipping cost. This is all subject to minor change, but we'll keep ya posted.
Oh yeah, Payaso, MS does make boosters, they're the Pros. We're thinking about ordering some stuff from TE, so we could get some boost cars in alternate frequencies and mosfet mod them, but we'd probably need to get some cash up front so we're not left holding. Let us know.
