maxx, You're a little confused. Choro-Qs are pullback cars, sold as Penny Racers in America. I had Penny Racers when I was kid, so they must have come out some time in the mid/late 70s. Part of the reason why there's such a selection.
The IR cars are Digi-Qs, and yes, they were really that popular. They are what kick started the micro craze. Technically bits are cheap wannabes. From what I understand, bits never caught on as big as Digi-Qs in Japan.
