Nos bottle F&F car questions....

Want to talk about micro boats or micro planes? How about trains, slot cars or submarines? Well you can do it all right here. If it's another hobby and it doesn't fit in one of our other forums, then it goes here.

Nos bottle F&F car questions....

Post by extrememicros »

I was in a not so close wal mart today and they had the Nos bottle cars for 13 bucks, so I picked one up for me and 4 to sell in my shop. Since that wal mart is like 40 minutes away....

At any rate, I opened mine and charged etc, it wouldn't go forward at all. It will go in reverse and turn left and right....not sure what is up with that.

I'll take that one back sometime. But here is my questions.

Anyone mod these to be more controllable? I think it could be a seriously nice runner with a bit of work, which I am willing to do, but am clueless where to begin. I did a search on here and came up empty handed.

First, does anyone know if the batts are wired parallel or in series?

As my first thought is to remove one of the cells to slow it down. We'll race nothing faster than a 1.6 at the track at the shop, so I am more into handling than speed.

That damn bounce is a pain in the hiz-ass everytime you take off. I'd love to make it a good runner, I just need some suggestions from those who may have made it better already...

Holla

to tell you the truth, i dont have one, but there's been some complainin on the same topics before =).

the batts are in series, which pumps up the voltage and gives it the speed, and thus the hop on takeoff.

also, those wheels are damn tiny, as well as pretty narrow. a simple wheelmod would do the trick, whether you want to use pullback wheels (fatties) or those german alloys, even fatter :-D. it Should give you enough traction to hold the power on take-off.

maybe more weight on the back of the car, but that may end up slowing it down.

hope that helps... until someone who has one comes along :wobble:
mmmmm.... rice....

I don't own one, but i've seen em run before, and i think all they need are a little reinforcement, wheel trueing, different gears, and some good break in. It seems like after about 2 weeks even crappy cars start to break in and run better... :greenblob:

I have a couple of these. You gotta change the wheels and rip off the rear end and replace it with better gearing. After all that major surgery, they turn out to be one of the best micros I've got.
If it ain't broke, tear it apart and see what makes it tick!
