Hey guys,

Here's something I started work on today.

It came out of the blue actually, I hadn't had it planned out at all, I just started work on it immediately.

So first, I decided on the body I wanted to use.

Here was the choice :

It came with only the rear wheel wells cut out, so I had to cut out the fronts, was an easy enough task with a Dremel.

Next, I cut the Superslicks chassis.




The rear end had a bit of a rough cut


so I dremeled it smooth.....


Next I ground it down on some concrete, it's allot faster and easier than sanding, and I didn't want to spend 20mins with sandpaper when I could just spend 3mins grounding.


Came out smooth enough.


For the front end, I didn't need to Dremel, a little grounding down had it sorted out nicely.


That's all I've done so far, the chassis will be extended, and it will have H plate style suspension in the rear.

Any comments are very much welcomed, I need some to keep me going and to finish the project

I'm in need of a faster Superslicks motor, if anybody has one I'd appreciate it.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's actually a hard body, approx 1/43 - 1/35 scale, Maybe SWG can give us more info ? I'm not sure myself!

Thanks mate, I'm hoping it'll be finished over this weekend, if all goes to plan.

I'm planning on a matte black paint job, not a shiny one, I have my reasons, mainly because the moulding on these is not the best quality, I'm guessing they were from a home batch, but even still these bodies kick ass, but the little defects look like filler and patchwork in the body, and from the age of these, it'll look nicely scale.

Nope, there's a chassis under this bitch!

Problem is, I need to do some shaving on the underneath, and hopefully once the chassis has been painted, you wont be able to see my messy extension like you can now. It's messy, but it's strong and functional. so I'll let it pass. and for the record, yes, that's one section of ruler, and a piece of credit card..oh and some super glue

As you can see, almost zero ground clearance, about a micrometer!
Needs some damn good shaving, besides, I'm planning on new wheels, I think, so that'll sort the ground clearance out.

Body sits just like I wanted, I just have to mount it now.

I'll update tomorrow with some paint on the chassis, right now I'm just admiring what I created in about an hour of "spur of the moment, use what resources you have" mode
