I noticed there is a diode (the black canister) on there, where as there is not in the pictures in the Street Tuner mini-mag. Is that what your talking about?

That's there to give you stronger brakes.

i duno i got an xmod right away and returned it about a week ago and both had two capacitors on the motors. one ceramic disk and one electrolytic. i asked my one friend why they are different and he explained that probably one filters out the high frequencies and one filters out the low frequencies. the stage 2 motor kit has the same deal. i dont quite get what you are talking about.

Oh yeah, that is an electrolytic capacitor. I just assumed it was a diode because we used diodes on our motors in 1/10th scale, but now that I think about it, we didn't have reverse. You can't use a diode on a motor that gonna be reversed like the Xmods.

So knowing that, Hog's friend is more than likely correct. They're probaby 2 types of capacitors to filter different frequencies.

...but tell us more about this first and second generation. I'm curious too as to what you're talkin' about.

the one revision i know of is in the skylines. the first batch had the radio crystal sitting pretty high. the later ones had them sitting much lower. my supra has the lower sitting crystal but it was bought as soon as they appeared in stores so i guess it was corrected early on but they sitll released the chassis' with the higher crystal. i dunno how common the higher crystal chassis is
