Hardwired and 6 Celled and Night Light Video
Here is some video of Bird, Hog, and me (SG219) out in the dark runnin' Xmods on a basketball court last night. It's called Night Lights.

My Xmod went down first, do to having too much torque!!
I was over Bird's the other night and and wanted to do some soldering on my Xmod. Well, Bird said he wanted the practice so I supplied the training ground/victim. I wanted to hard wire the motor to eliminate the clips and then 6 cell it. He did an excellent job! Very clean and shrink wrapped. Thanks.
This was formerly known as the monster Xmod. So the car now has locked front and rear diffs=4WD, not AWD, 6 cells, hardwired motor, plus the other crap, like bearings and stuff. It added about an average of 4km on the speed checker. Now I need to get the monster wheels back on it.

Speed Tied on.

The two wires from the car are soldered to the motor wires, no clip.

The 6 cell wires are soldered directly to the holders crimped contacts, not the wires, no wires needed.
Well, after a few minutes on the court the screw came out of the front knuckle and the assembly was just hangin' there. Fixed this later at Hogs with some glue and another screw.
We recharged and went back out to a McD's parking lot that was a little wet and had plenty of oil spots and other shit lyin' around.
Hog's car went down, don't remember why, but I think his speed sticker fell off or got scratched.
Then my car got weird, the cone gears weren't engaging. Upon closer investigation, when I got home, all 4 cup things were cracked, from the torque. Some worse than others.
I will say this, the 6 cell is fun, but you have to make sure everything is glued, or held together tightly!! There has to be someway to keep the cups and the wheel arms together without glueing them in each other, in order to keep the suspension.
Bird's car kept on runnin', but his ride has barely been messed with, so that just shows that if you get all MOD crazy with your car, the odds of it fuckin' up are increased severely!!

I will say this... 4 months of owning an xmod, and I finally enjoyed the thing! I had a ball at that ratdonalds, since my tires weren't glued for the hoop court session... I just wish hogs antenna didn't mess up or 219s torque didn't eat his cups up... My ride and hogs ride are pretty evenly matched, and I can't wait to run against him again... now we just need 219 to set one up pretty much the same so we can get some 3 car paint-trading laps going lol...
I seriously think the key to having fun with these is having people to run with...
Too bad 219s and hogs iWavers are on the way... I think our next hookup will likely be more centered around running those... but I still want to get some more xmod running in, too!

not as bad as a 12$ aluminum muffler for bits bruce.
ya its not always about all out balls speed. i mean that shit is great but id rather sacrifice a little for handling. i got my xmod to the point where its fast as hell(could have a little better acceleration i guess) and it turns good.
but im getting my iwaver soon and for some reason i see myself beating that thing more than the xmod.

I couldn't agree more. If it weren't for SuperFly loving racing as much as I do, I'd have been out a long time ago... and I never would have even bothered with an xmod or an iWaiver, or the MR02's we're gonna get soon.Bird wrote:I seriously think the key to having fun with these is having people to run with...
If the racin' dried up, I'd probably still build the little ones, but it wouldn't be half as fun and none of them would be geared toward racing. I'd probably just sell the big'uns. But, no worries... we're both addicted to the side-by-side racing action. And, since the end of each night is usually "the best racing ever", it's always getting better. Racing is the shizzle for rizzle.

I was very careful with my choice of words in my first post in this thread for just that reason, br2ce, and leave it to hog to say it like that!ph2t wrote:damn man! I didn't even need to edit this one! lol..............hogjowlz wrote:hell ya that 3 way action was sweet last week. .................
bloody fag!

ph2t.
And dammit it's just my luck to go for 4 months without breaking anything, and less than a week after giving hog my extra set of knuckles.... I broke a damn knuckle tonight!!! Dammit! Serves me right for wanting to go and floss my freshly painted gunmetal rims down the end of the block...
EDIT... Scratch that whiny dammit shit! I just got done remaking the lower part of the knuckle my damn self! Used a pen and some crazyglue. It works just like it did before it broke, but probly isn't as strong... That's aaaight too, though, now I have an excuse to make the knuckle guards I've been thinking about.... Back to the lab!
EDIT AGAIN!... Hue... it's the truth, I probably wouldn't be as deep into this if it weren't for 219 coming over and getting himself hooked... And I feel really lucky that we have someone like hog so close too... That fact alone is pushing me to do better shit...
