Brushless xmod...
Everyone's probably seen it on other sites, but I might as well show it off:

That's the old setup. My new setup required me to put it on the long wheelbase setting, but I have a body coming that fits the whole aura of this car (for 60s racer fans, when you see it, you'll know what I mean). Anyway, new setup pics:

Mods:
- Mamba 6800 and Mamba 25 ESC
- 3s kokam 340 pack
- Mini-X servo and receiver
- Futaba 2 channel AM 27 mhz radio
- Mini-Z CLK-GTR wheels with foams or Top Cad Z rears with sticky rubber tires (matters where it's driving and if I hit full throttle), both 11 mm width
- Hot Rod wheels in front with hard treads
- Tiny RC/Zero cf frame
- custom pinion made out of white bevel
- blue bevel
- red diff (white one melted the inside, fixed it, then the outside stripped)
- Atomic Mods cups and GPM dogbones (RWD BABY!)
- Custom "shortie" driveshaft (someone here came up with it, but can't remember who)
- aluminum knuckles (GPM)
- RS bearings (would've thought they'd seize by now)
Top speed: somewhere above 62.137 mph...
Anyway, I thought some people here would like to see the new shots anyways. It handles like crap, but that's due to the fact that it literally leaves rubber:

The link won't do anything for me.viperdout wrote:The We-did-todd-racing link is the best for now, because I kinda destroyed the bevel.sg219 wrote:Thats pretty cool shit!!
Got any vid of that thing tearin' up the ground it rolls on?I just got a new stage 2 motor kit, so that'll be fixed soon.

I tried opening it a couple of ways and none worked.
Maybe I missed something.

Save it, then play with real player. Rcpics wouldn't host it. Anyone got a host?sg219 wrote:The link won't do anything for me.viperdout wrote:The We-did-todd-racing link is the best for now, because I kinda destroyed the bevel.sg219 wrote:Thats pretty cool shit!!

Whoah....that is one sick puppy you got there. If I had the dough, I'd opt for a brushless motor system. Correct me if I'm wrong, aren't brushless motors quieter?

Let me put this way: I did a speed checker test in my kitchen, and it was so loud that mom in my living room could not hear the TV. That little incident was on li-ions. It's friggin loud, but I bet a brushless versus a brushed motor at the same RPM that the brushless would be a lot quieter. The really big difference between a brushless versus brushed is the heat created. After a little running, a Stage 2 Red is about 10 times hotter than a similar run with the mamba. Keep in mind, the mamba isn't cold, but it's only slightly warm.HirotoR34 wrote:Whoah....that is one sick puppy you got there. If I had the dough, I'd opt for a brushless motor system. Edit: Managed to top ot the speed checker, which means I have smoked 62 mph.
