xmod awd ball dif problems

Post by micro_man »

I recently installed awd in my xmod, and the ball dif donset work right. It only lets one wheel spin , or this problem fixable by adjusting it if you can adjust it? Im stuck using the gear dif, and I hear if you use the gear dif you can break the cup joints easily so I don’t really want to drive it to much until I fix the ball dif or get a new one. Thanks for any input, later.

I have had the same problems. I've weighed the performance of the ball diff compared to the planetary flavor. No matter how much I adjusted it, The ball diff falls short on performance. I have also tried using others and even went as far as locking them. Handling was crap. Locking diffs in on road cars is useless to me. (maybe it's my driving style) In my opinion and experience, the planetary just works better for these cars.
