Ok, update.. And a rant..
Ok well its been going good with a stage one, but im getting ansy for my pinion puller and motors from various dealers, and its starting to erk me. So i found a pinion in my tool box which was 8 tooth. Had trouble getting it on the motor, which i got from the same person i got the EP and V2 from which is explained further on. Got the motor in, soldered capacitors and the wires, peaked the li polys.. After 8 minutes of running the voltage dropped dramaticly which caused a, "what the hell?!" So i picked up the car, saw smoke and immediatly turned it off. Moved the V1 and noticed it was scoulding hot. Ok wow, so i looked for a source, the motor was the obvious source. I didnt think it would be a problem with it only being 40 turns, but the motor had gotten to hot, hotter than a plasma dash i have used before. Wow, i was kinda freaked out because at first i thought the batteries had shorted. Went over all the li poly connections, this is more or less the ranting part.. The li polys and EP came on a chassis when i bought it so i didnt have to do anything but slap the hardware on it and charge it and go.. As i was checking over the connections, i discovered the lamest soldering job ever. The person i had gotten it from simply put solder on the wires, sat them in the li poly tabs, twisted them and dabbed solder on it, so one of the tabs came off but that was not the obvious problem. I re did most of the tabs, but one was broken off and taped back on. This was not done by me, but the person who it was purchased from. The guy was supposto be a master electronics wiz. Yeah, ok. So i went over everything, the motor was definitly toast. It had gotten so hot the brushes fused to the armuture, much hotter that a plasma in a stock can. The person who this was bought from is moebrown. Never, do buisness with him. All his motors are cheaply made, and that u could find at radioshack for 2 bucks and rewind yourself, which anyone could really do. So now im bored, waiting for my motors and li ions from jawdrop. The cells are damaged from the motor and moebrown will be hearing it from me, i want a refund for the batteries and motor and for proof i will send them to him. Well thats all for now, i will be converting to li ion when they come, for the time being. I need some smaller li poly to fit under xmod bodys.
