I don't know.
Perhaps a larger servo's electronics are the answer. I don't have a problem using my old JR Servo from my XXX-nt if that would be the ticket. I don't know if it will really fit the bill though.
I'm assuming just about any analog servo electronics would work. right? I mean, they all need a sensor and a motor, no?

Yes and no. You see, most analog servos have vastly different potentiometers, which results in vastly different centerpoint resistances and curves. For example, a 10k resistor must be wired in paralell with the ZZSE servo pot to make it work, and even then it requires some tweaking.pimpsmurf wrote:I don't know.

Also, servos have H-bridges to control the motor. A big motor would likely fry the FETs on a small servo. Considering that a full-size (HS322) servo's electronics are no more than 1.5 cm x 4 cm, size is hardly a problem, and "standard" sized servos can be had for 10$ or so.
EDIT: 4x NiMHD cells (4.8 volts) would very likely be shooting yourself in the foot. A 2-cell LiPoly pack would function far better, and 6 NiMHD would likely make for a happier Mamba. (I've yet to hear of anyone using them on less than 7.2 volts.)
Lithiums are great!

20C is as good as it gets, and let me tell you, it's hard to go wrong with Kokam. They make good stuff.
E-Tec is good too. They can't take more than 10C though; on the other hand, they're much cheaper.
Remember, LiPo's do NOT like going below 3 volts per cell, so a 2-cell pack would likely be damaged if it went below 6 volts.
