I'll try to get pics or video.
Your lucky, all the mini-z tracks around me are xmod racist when it comes to race nights. They only allow mainly stock mini-z's too at race night. :o
it's a shame that happens. both are welcome at my track. alomst all of us own xmods however they just don't get alot of track time. :-?

Got on the track again and kicked some stock Xmods.

Got 15 Laps on this track this time. They said that that is the new track record as well.

My set up was EVO with Ball Bearings, Stage 2(Highest gear), Lowering Kit, and Foam Tires. With that setup on that track in LOW on the controller I never let off it was like the car was on rails. In HIGH I had to back off a little but it still ran like it was on rails.

I Installed the AWD kit and Steering Upgrade before the main race and ran 80% of the race in LOW with the throttle maxed and never backed off. Then I switched it to high just after hitting the back straightaway. Grand total 15 laps (new track record).

I would recommend the steering upgrade if you install the AWD kit because when I did I had to dial more steering just to get it to turn close to what I had.

Friday I received my EVO-T (Hummer). Contacted GPM as well and they will be getting samples of the EVO and EVO-T soon so this one is mine and I am opening it as I type. I put in my request for GPM to make Diffs for these new designs.

Got to pay with the H2 and could not believe that Stock I was pulling Wheelies with this thing. Got to get Delrin/Alloy Diff's and axles/Dog bones for this thing because even stock I could hear the diff or dogs tick when taking off hard. Also installed the Lift kit and Wow what a difference. Got to install stiffer Springs just to get the front to track properly after the install.

BTW: This last time on the track there were no KIDS with older Xmods. It was a fair race with 4 EVO's all driven by adults (kids at heart).
We found out that the EVO 8 body has enough space inside the body to hold an ABM transponder.

My quick review

I decided to buy the G35 Coupe, based upon that I already like the real thing. It handles a helluva lot better than gen1, with super sharp steering. So sharp the tires will rub inside at times when lowered, but I think that's due to the body design. Stock it was handling better than my upgraded Gen1 GTR. The speed out of the box was pretty good too. It was able to keep up with my Gen1 loaded with Stage 2 Motor and AWD. Stock vs. Stock I didn’t test, as others have already done that (CJ and atomicmods)

I also bought a few performance upgrades: Steering and Suspension, Race Tune Suspension, AWD, Ball Bearings, and Stage 2 Motor. With all of these installed, and using the stock medium compound slicks, this thing is just plain awesome. Now I see how good these EVO’s are for myself. This will be a good contender against an AWD Mini-Z

Anyone who has ever owned an OG Xmod w/BB can attest it still wobbled a lot, but it was a huge improvement over the nylon bushings. Well the BB for the EVO are a lot better than the older gen1 had, very little wobble. The AWD in the gen1 models worked magic over the handling characteristics, and again, same outcome for the EVO. However, there was no improvement over the differential issues of yore. Actually there is no upgraded diff for the AWD kit at all, just open diffs front and rear. So while it would turn insanely sharp, it wouldn't rotate with sudden wide-open-throttle. Not my style, so I jammed the rear diff like I did my older X. So what if I voided the warranty now, it behaves much more like I prefer.

Anyone who knows me well enough knows I love drifting. Well guess what. With the G already in the lowered position, i tried on the drift kit wheels, but now the wheels wouldn't touch the ground. They were to small in diameter, so it would need to be lifted back to stock or rally height for it to work. I didn't feel like going through all those damn parts, so I grabbed some extra wheels/tires and wrapped them in scotch tape. As of now, it awaits drifting tests.

Edit: Drifting review will be in the Xmod Drifting thread.

Update

Okay, these damn things are tough. I purposely drove into a BRICK wall at full speed running stage 2 11/25. The damn thing just spun around and drove off, no damage to the chassis what-so-ever. There was barely any body damage on it too, just a few skuffs from the brick texture. I have also jumped it from about a foot high, and just suffed up the bottom a bit. I know a foot doesn't sound to high, but it is just 1:28, and the gen1 would break something at that height.

The tie-rod screws aren't that big a problem if the ground is fairly smooth, but will move about in another direction when the surface is really rough or dirty. Where you can't drive a gen1 without problems or cleaning the surface applies to the evo as well.

Broken: two mirrors  .

Edit 11/5-Jumped it off a small set of stairs about 4 feet high. It lived, and didn't break or bend a damn thing, or pry any screws out of their threads either. So I tried two more times. This thing can take take some abuse for how much it cost; I can't break it yet with rough, abusive driving.

Finaly broke something.

This car has survived 15mph crashes into table legs and a solid brick wall, multiple high speed rolls and flips, a sand trap(full tear down and cleaning), 1 hour of nonstop use/abuse, and a jump from four feet high, with only cometic damage.
:?
Now after 1 month, something broke. I was running it on a sidewalk that was a little uneven and had a few lips in it, and I just happen to catch a small lip. The thing went endo and tumbled few times. After I set it back on its wheels, I tried to take off again, but the damn thing would barely move. I checked it and noticed only the front tires were spinning. I only found a half dogbone on each side. How a crash like that would affect the driveline beats me; I thought something like that would happen form high power and launch stress. Now I'm looking for alloy.

If you were wondering how it handled front-wheel-drive and open diff, like hammered shit in a paper bag. Truly not the ideal setup.
