The wide bearings are a waste of time IMO. In the front AWD setup they are too wide.
ie: in the front steering knuckle if the outer bearing is wide it displaces the universal joint and causes turning resistance, not good.
the inner bearing on the front steering knuckle is too wide to allow the front assembly to screw into place. the bearing infringes on the piece of retaining plastic that comes up form the chassis base. you need to cut the plastic to allow it to sit correctly.
using wide bearings on the awd shaft aint succesfull either due to rubbing on the sourounding plastic.
just get the normal bearings set (VXB) and shim up the axle holes in your rims. the axle holes themsleves are a serious cause of play in the wheel, front and rear. you tighten that setup and ya laughin....!
Aaron, I have a couple of stock RS bearings spare, you want me to send them to you for comparision with your batches mate?
ph2t.

yeah sorry guys I miss-quoted the widths in my previous post...2mm and 2.5mm is what they shoudl be.
The 'problem' is that it's very unlikely that there is a shielded version of the bearing that RS sells. ie they're a MR63, the shielded version of that is MR63ZZ that also becomes 0.5mm wider.
But at least if they're open and _cheaper_ than RS it can't be all bad.
I've requested pricing on the MR63 to see what I can put together.
I'll see if a shielded drop-in exists too..
