Drop in crawler motor

Post by frizzen »

Found this over on scale4x4rc.

It's a small gear-motor that has been stuffed inside a 130 motor can. Looks like it drops you to nearly HS-55 speed, without the need to hack stuff up as much.

URL has pics and video.

You're welcome Shaun, anything I can do to help.

Sidewinder, who has the aluminum shocks, and are they oily or friction?
Your plan sounds about like my truck: 4x4, suspension lift, remove steering slop, new body...
Now I'm wanting That motor, tamiya or ashoma tires (tamiya sounds easier)

I believe the tires are THESE

EDIT: I couldn't remember the company I got these from but I found a link to the same springs/shocks from Hobby-Smart. They're not oil and I don't really know that they work that much better but they look cool. That, plus they're cheap enough :-o Sp anyway here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/GPM-Alloy-Front-Rea ... dZViewItem

There are a couple of retailers on ebay that have them...now that I think about it I think I got mine from TheToys.
