What car would you like to see? Ill mold it and produce it.

Post by Sporttracguy »

Well pimps, it's been a while since I posted on the site but I think this will be a good one. I recently made a mold of a vintage Porsche 911 for myself and it came out so well that I'm thinking about producing several more and selling them (around $25-$30), depending on how many takers i have)

The body was made to fit my xmod evo (body mounts are molded to the inside of the body) but it can also be modified to fit a mini z as well.

If there are any takers I am also interested in making other models so suggestions are welcome. Keep in mind that it should be a car that is not available from kyosho or xmod (otherwise whats the point).

Also keep in mind that silicone and mold making is rather expensive so although there may be several good requests for bodies i can only produce the ones with the most popularity (so that i can recover the cost of the mold and materials)

One more thing that you should be aware of, some models just wont fit the xmod/mini z platform so there are limitations. I recently purchased a model of an Audi r8 and although it is a beautiful car the body is just too wide and too long for the platform. just something to keep in mind if you have your heart set on a car.

Hopefully there is some good feedback, this is the primed porsche that i currently have a mold of:

I too would have said a Grand National, and I would have said a '66 or earlier Beetle..... but I already have a 1/24 scale model of a GN, and I just acquired a Hasagawa '66 Beetle model kit. A beetle wouldn't work anyway, unless it was for a gen1 chassis with the batteries relocated.

Sooo..... a Nova sounds cool.
Older Land Rovers?
Boss or Mach Mustangs?
72 Charger.
08 4 door Civic?
Astra?
Tuscan?
Esparante?

oohh..... Roadsters from the early 60's Jags, Ferraris, Jalpa, Gullwings.....
:-o

Notice lots of orphan cars on the list.

Pretty Porsche!!!

*droool*

If they'd offered THAT one, I'd have had to buy an Xmod car!

Oh, and I'm in for a vote AGAINST anything Monte Carlo.

Don't worry too much about the length of the wheelbase, Xmod Evos are easily stretched. I stretched one for my 57 Chevy Belair.

Well you know what happened. He switched religions from Blue Oval to the Masters of the Bow Tie and their affiliates.

When he started here he was a Mustang lover. But he caught the Bow Tie bug in the form a car put on the market so the NASCAR Chevy teams could gain the benefit of the sloped rear window. The notched rear design caused aerodynamic turbulence.

I seem to lean to the orphans (cars made by nameplates that no longer exist.)

AMC
Plymouth
DeSoto
Eagle
Hudson
Nash
Oldsmobile
Studebaker
Avanti
Packard
Checker (Damn, somebody has to make a Checker Metropolitan)
Willy's Overland
Kaiser
Dusenberg
REO Speedwagon (They made Fire Trucks.)

I know some joined to become other names (AMC was Hudson and Nash joining forces and Willy's and Kaiser were makers of JEEP.)

I am with IBJ I would like to see a Land Rover also a Doge Charger. Anything Old school Hot Rod would be great. I also think a 240Z or 280Z would be great (I have a body of a 280 but have never finished it).

ok so vintage seems to be the theme that kyosho and xmod missed huh?

First off, since the prosche 911 mold is done, do i have any takers with that body? maybe something to fund the cost of the next mold (purchase of model, silicone, labor, plastic...)

if you guys could post some pictures of what you have in mind that would also be help full.

so far im thinking:

land rover

DB

dodge charger

other muscle car of some sort:

keep the ideas coming,,ill hit the hobby store this weekend and see what is available:
also, since im a bit of a porsche guy, are there any other porsche models you would like to see? 356, 911, 928, 944, cayman, carrera gt...
and of course, keep rally cars in mind too.

i dont want to rain on anyones parade but you need to keep in mind that the body is casted in a single solid color so you will need to paint in all of the windows and headlights  (like in the early 911) Not necessarily a draw back but it is something to keep in mind if you have certain headlights or glassy appearances in mind.
