well i dont know whats on that board but
1: they may already have fets
2: im sure someones working on it
3: do you really need more?

If they have fets, i guess i ment stacking them, and i really hope someones working on them, i havent even looked at the pcb yet. Whats wrong with a faster Xmod? id like to see mine top out to 20 or more. Xmods with IC-3 and blue stage 2 go about 15mph. Theres also that nice HIGH or LOW switch on the TX.

I'm pretty satisfied with the speed of my Xmod as it is, but I could see wanting more speed if I had a bigger area to run it. From what I've read, it sounds like some of those tricked out motors pull so much current, that if you don't FET your board you will fry it. I think sessiz is using one of those $50 motors, but I don't think he's done any FET modding.
That dude neurotechnik or something like that on TinyRC sounds like he would have done that by now.

Also, if you can find the link to that nml motor guy, it's in one of the x-mod threads on Tiny, he has a whole big fet thing on his site, like a link or some guy affiliated with him that fet mods x-mod boards.
They want something like $160 for a fetted x-mod and a hand wound motor, I forget what they wanted if you send your car.
If I come across it again, I'll post the link here for you.
*EDIT* here you go, this should help.

dang, I can't wait to get an x-mod... stupid slow IRS takin' forever wit my dough.

Nope, no stacked fets....yet.
I've got the first nml motor (stage x) and am still running it. So far I've used the escalation motor (lxx mini z clone) which is my second fastest. It has more torque than the nml but no where near the top end. It's definatly a step up from the stage 2 motors. The only reason I may want the fet upgrade is so I can through in hotter motors but I still want the option of cruising with my xmod. I think I'll wait for a "turbo" or external fet upgrade.

xmods are pretty similar to mini-z, well atleast the chassis bares resemblence (battery holders and stuff) Is there any way to convert mini-z hop ups and "turbos"?

I've heard that the mini z "turbo" would work but I haven't tried it myself yet.

do you know exactly what it is? you mentioned external fets, that sounds interesting... how would that connect?

I asked about that, and several people told me it wouldn't.
...but anyways. The Xmod does have FETs in it, the FETs that are used in the Mini-Z FET upgrade, can be used in the Xmod. Haven't tried it yet, but read about it on TRC. I'll find you the info after I get off work, if you haven't found it already.

Or you could buy external FETs if you suck on soldering surface mounted components like me.
