How the hell am I gonna do this?

Midgets post brought up a question for me. On one of my X-mods the part were the crystal goes in had what seems like a ring drop from it. this makes it so the littlest bump can potentially make it loose contact, there by stopping her dead in her tracks. How the heck can I fix this? Will I have to permantnetly adhear it into the fitting, or buy the part? And if I have to permanetly afix it, how? JB weld was already suggested, but I want a pimps point of view. Here is Midgets pic to show ya more.

Edit: Bah can't link his image, any how it's his 1st pic in his recent post in the X-mod FAQ

Hey Finks do you have and soldering experience or know some one?

If so check with Robert Byrd at http://www.atomicmods.com/parts.htm and get the XMOD Receiver Board. He does charge $14.95 for it and all you have to do is unsolder your old one and solder the new one in place.

If the two little inductors where the antenna is attached are damaged then yes that will solve the range problem.

Cj if I was to do that, I would just go to our back room at the shack and grab one from one of our many pooched X-mods for a couple of pennies. I am just trying to get around totaly replacing that. Good info tho none th less.

Solution found! I figured, what would HJ do, then decided naww... no JB weld. So then I figured what would Crazy Dave do? Wrap the end in a bit of tinfoil! BAM insta fix!
