Thanks, Pimp.
That Porche is titties up, legs spread, and ready to go!
Too bad about the mounting problems for the Mini Z--I saw a Speed Racer Mach-5 body that would kick ass on a XMOD.
Props to the bigguns,
Love Doc

You mean this Mach 5?
This was done by a guy on ebay who has been modding mini-z and iwaver bodies to fit the xmod chasis for a while now. He has a pretty good business going with good feedback. His auctions state that he doesn't use velcro. In my opinion, this may or may not be good depending on the body I guess. I love the way Bird's Porche sits nice and low on the xmod chasis with the velcro mod. But, here is an example of an this ebayer's work with the GT40, a body I would love to get on my xmod. I'm not real impressed with the way it sits on the chasis.
This one looks a bit better, but its a shitty pic:
The last one is a mod done by an ebay seller who appears to have been a good customer of the original ebay modifier and decided to start doing it himself.

I'm pretty sure that the dude on ebay who says "no velcro" uses xmod rear clips... I don't know what he does in the front. But I'm sure that the use of the xmod clip in the rear is the reason for the high ride height... Although, with that Mach 5, the "interior" might come into play...
I will say this about the velcro... on my Porsche, the only thing holding that shell on is 2 squares of velcro... one on each battery clip. I have whacked it into walls at full speed and it doesn't budge... 219 and hog have both driven mine with this set up and will vouch for this... sessiz has done this same set up and will vouch for it.
I have a foam front bumper/tab slot idea in the works for my iWaver Mitsubishi Lancer EVO shell that is currently in prep limbo... prep for my xmod lol... I want to do this one that way because when everything comes together for it, it will be stoopid fast.
There is also a tutorial on a different way to do it on the xmod page on Ikinaris site... they used the Knight Rider "K.A.R.R." mini z shell... I would link you directly to it, but Ikinari doesn't like that... it's pretty easy to find on there, though... it's on the xmod page...

@lovedoc... Thanks, man... I think my Porsche is a sexy bitch, too.

theres a tutorial on Tiny RC about how to acctually use the Xmod mounts to mount a MiniZ body instead of velcro. take a look at what you find in the toy aisle in Walmart i have a body from a Nikko truck in the works for my XMOD.

The 911 uses an Xmod rear clip and a carbon fiber front clip. The rear clip screws onto an aluminum mount so that the window remains clear and untouched, 4 red LEDs have been used for the tail lights, with amber head and fog lights, one of my Scorpion light sets is tucked up under the clip so it cant be seen through the window either..

The concept doesn’t use a clip everything has been very carefully trimmed for a perfect fit, since the above photo the rear end has been lowered slightly for a better look. This body is also being outfitted with a Scorpion light set as well as some other goodies, if everything goes right you’ll see more on it in the near future.
