That's it, I gotta say, you're now looking at a 100% xmod convert here....

Yesterday I finally popped a nelly 1.3 in to my xmod. Previous to this I was running my plasma/atomic can combo on stock fets and the 8t pinion. Top speed was good, torque was crap.

Once I put nelly in though, damn! What a difference. Now it only takes a minute of driving to unlock my ball diff. The take off is great now, and top speed has increased dramatically. ON stock fets the ball diff never loosened up. I had it setup pretty tight too.

What is interesting is that the XMOD on the tammy speed checker clocked in at 24kph with the above setup on stock fets. Once I put nelly in it hit 27kph. This doesn't sound like much, but day-am! Put the bugger on the ground and you can clearly see the increase in performance.

It just goes to show you how the XMOD suffers greatly from the in-efficiencies of it's AWD drivetrain. So basically whenever you can get any extra torque you should try, it makes the biggest difference!

I'll post some pics of the setup when I get the chance. The install wasn't too bad actually, considering the turkey the xmod is when building/stripping.....

the pcb is another reason for the lack of torque. i recently tried out an i waver pcb in an xmod and there was a significant increase in torque as a result. and it's nothing to do with the fets each company uses, when i did the changeover i was running a nelly with both boards.

man, if i loved this car any more i'd be taking it to bed and fucking it!
after 2 full sets of batteries and a savage game of xmod tag both cars are unscathed except for some paintwork. me an ph2t were laughing about how we woulda gone through $200 in mini z parts had these been z wavers.

Is your 'nelly' easy to install?
What is it really, can I use it running lithiums?
At what point while using it, will something go wrong with my electronics?
Is this all I need to run a fast motor and lithiums?
Do you take money orders?
Do you ship to Barados? (near Jamaica)

Thanx

PS I visited the nelly site but wasn't satisfied with the general info you gave to I am askint the suurse directly :)

1) I believe so, check out the stuff section on the website, the installat doco is there.

2) er, the website descibes what nelly is. yes you can run either li-ion or li-poly fine.

3) wtf sorta question is that ??? :???:

4) Yes, in the electronics sense.

5) I guess I can, they would need to be in $USD though.

6) Sure, worldwide via Airmail.

What did you find the website lacked in the information dept? I always want to improve it.

I mean after installing the nelly has anything gone wrong with your xmod, and when did it happen.

Does the xmod w/ nelly have stock parts? If not, what aftermarket parts have you installed to strengthen it?

Thanx
