The OLMod

Well, I'm just starting on this, and I won't buy an OL because it does not have AWD. Enter RS and the xmod. It has AWD, yet ground clearance is dismal, so starts this project:
It'll have a G55 body and wheels plus OL shocks when done. Right now it's just a mockup. I'll be turning the motor around and solidifying the suspension.

Body and shocks are going to be ordered tonight. I hope to get it done within a month (remember it's gonna take at least a week from RCMart).

Very interesting!!!
Could you take a pic or two from the bottom and mention a few details?
It looks like that idea might just work pretty good.

Well, I'll take a pic or 2 of the bottom when Bob stops singing (I love The Hurricane, and the playlist this week rocks even more than usual). Anyway, I bolted down 2 front driveshaft guides down on the bottom of the chassis. Basically, it uses the driveshaft as its pivot point. I hope it has as good travel as the OLs I've seen, and I know it'll be able to take on more mud than an OL. I just ordered the body, shocks, and an OL chassis to chop up for this. I hope it fits the chassis (I can fix that though). Pics of the bottom in a minute.
Edit: Pic:
The tape's there to hold the bushings in. I think bushing'll be better for this offroader.
